at our school we've always been told what the question was going to be. when we did trials they told us it would be themes for KL. so basically the HSC is the first time my classmates and i will not know the questions, lol. just do heaps of quotes (with techniques) on themes and characters etc...

it's okay, you're still allowed to use it, it's just that it may be looked down on a little because you've used last years' texts rather than looking for your own. don't worry though, heaps of people at my school still used it.

this is why i'm not memorising an essay. they can ask anything, themes, characters etc i have this feeling people with prepared essays will get pwned this year. i did for journeys, but that's because the question for it has to be so broad. even then it took a bit of adapting.

i'm thinking worst case scenario: early 70's best case scenario: early 80's multi-choice: 17 short answer: 35+ report: 14-16 essay: 12-14 my average this year has been around 71, as long as i don't sink below that i'll be happy. but i'm pretty sure i did well in the short answer...

but if pages get torn out accidentally, then get mixed up... well, yeah, i don't envy you.

text 3. poems are usually a strong point for me, but the stress got to me and i panicked, so i didn't know wtf the composer was talking about. i haven'tlooked at it since and i don't think i will.

wait, is this overall or for one question? overall i used 3. i don't have very big writing. i only saw a couple of people in my year get extra booklets.

started on creative writing. forgot paragraph of my prepared, so i decided to do section one to give me time to remember and figure out how to adapt my essay. then i finished my creative, had an our left for my essay. finished the essay, went back to add detail to section 1.

still trying to memorise creative. hoping to god it fits the stimulus...

my trial marks looked a little something like this: 1. 10/20 2. 35/40 3. 15/20 2. 14/20 hoping to make big improvement in multi, do a little better in the extended... as for the others, as long as i don't get lower i'll be happy lol

you keep your external mark, your internal mark becomes the HSC mark of the person who comes second in the exam. using the marks you gave: 94 + 90 / 2 = 92. so your mark would be 92. i think that's how it works.
