Commonwealth Equity Scholarship and Start Up, do I get both?

Well you should still be eligible for the startup one I'm guessing. Simple way to check: login to your online banking and see if you're $650 richer right now ;)

Commonwealth Equity Scholarship and Start Up, do I get both?

I thought that the term Commonwealth Equity Scholarship wasn't the name of the scholarship itself but just the term for the program which includes CECS and Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships.

Can anyone briefly explain how degrees work?

As others have said, two degrees completed in less time than doing them both separately. The main tradeoff is that you don't get any room for electives that aren't within relevant faculties.

    Lecturer Quotes

Linear Algebra lecturer: "Wait, one plus one equals two, doesn't it?" (Yeah, I know, my lectures are terribly dry.)

    Overloading of subjects.

I'm fairly sure some places don't let first years overload - at least I think that's ANU's policy on it. I know someone who is overloading by 6u at the moment, but part of her reason for doing that was because she dropped 3u last semester due to illness. She seems to be coping alright at the...

    ANU undergrad mid-year enrolment

Yes, ANU definitely does mid-year entry. I don't know the specifics about it though.

    NO accommodation

Johns and Burgmann are owned by the Catholic and Protestant churches respectively, so although they're privately owned they are non-profit. UniLodge OTOH is owned by the Meridien Group, and I've heard fees over there are quite high. Laurus Wing is still only partially opened - Stage 1 is...

I hadn't heard about this, although it might have been Laurus Wing. And LOL @ Johns.

on averagehow much o the state dya rekon rely fails hsc/

I think the relevant term is sarcasm, or something like that ;) Yes, in order to actually 'fail' the HSC, i.e. not receive one, you must be deemed to not have completed enough units to fulfill the requirements. This either happens by two N Warnings followed by an N Determination, or by not...

90+ ATAR with these subjects and school?

Of course. If you're as motivated as you seem to be, you should get a high enough assessment ranking that the moderation process won't affect you badly. Other than that you just have to work hard, and with those subjects it's not too hard to get 90+.

How achievable is an ATAR of above 98/99 with my subjects?

It's certainly possible to do, however you will have to work quite hard for it. Certainly doing well in extensions helps.

    Student ID Photo

My ID photo was taken at a terrible resolution, it looks incredibly blurry. Other than that it's pretty similar to my licence photo, emotionless, which is the way I like it :D

    NO accommodation

Here at Ursies I believe we have something like 30-40% first years, so that would be a bit under 100 people or so. I can't be sure of this though.

    Is this bad?

You can achieve any ATAR if you work hard enough at any set of courses. If you can get in the 80s-90s for your courses (excluding Standard English, for which 70s is more achievable) you can definitely get a > 80.00 ATAR.

    Information on Accommodation

I think you're right, Johns is the one with interviews, although Burgmann requires reference forms and does not consider any later preferences, like Johns.

    O week

I'm not 18 until second year... Politics in the Pub sounds interesting - is it held in the licensed section of the premises or near but not in the licensed area? I'd hate to have to miss that :(

    Information on Accommodation

I gather that the Hall staff i.e. Head of Hall etc. seem to have a big role in selecting students. gingerwitch28: I think the reason they'd advise people to get in quick is so they don't forget to do it and miss the due date. Also Burgmann and Johns have interviews and reference forms and I...
