    HSC Prep

I can't add much more to the lovely advice given above. Though, this is the general advice I give to my students in a step-by-step format: Make cheat sheets for your subjects. A rule of thumb is 1 page, back-to-back, for each topic. The key thing here for you to remember is that it's totally...

Should I be reading my prescribed texts in the holidays?

Alternatively, you could read essays from previous years to get the general gist. In essence, you would read highly condensed and succinct analyses of the texts. Reading the texts themselves is fine, but rarely would you get anything so mindblowing that hasn't already been analysed by someone else.

do you guys use correction tape?

Just don't make mistakes. In all seriousness, try to write a bit slower and reduce crossing out/ taping out. This will carry over to your exams, and your responses will look flawless lol.

    Multiple Choice; Please Help!

Can relate. I never seemed to be able to get 100% on my MCs. Here are some tips and tricks to improve your MC game, though: If there are two MC options that look roughly the same, it is most likely one of the two. It is vert likely that the longest MC is correct. Use both previous and future...

Anyone keep thinking about stuffing up in the HSC and being screwed?

Totally normal. Just remember that the marks you get are outside of your control. So, don't stress too much about an outcome that you don't even know about yet and don't have any control over. Good thing is, you can control your studying. The second good thing is, your studying will NOT fail...

State rank for Business and Economics

Hmm, difficult to answer. It really depends on a whole lot of other factors, such as how well the rest of the HSC cohort does this year. Economics and business studies has a relatively lower sample space of students. So, if a lot of students in higher ranking schools score the same or higher...

    lol help?

To be honest, don't sweat the small stuff. There really isn't a magic structure or exact number of stats or perfect introduction. Just remember, your goal is to answer the essay question. And if you need 2 statistics to prove your argument, then just provide two of them. If you need x diagram to...

should i share my essays with my grade?

I'm with dasdas here. There's quite a bit of leniency in terms of students using the same quote and analysis, but less so if students literally wrote what the previous student wrote word for word. So, if you've got notes, feel free to share them. If you don't, feel free to make some one pager...

I got over 90 in my trial... am I in a good position? (english standard)

Wow, well done! Like the others have said, CSSA is generally harder than the HSC. But, like you said, don't get complacent. So, even if you did really well in the CSSA paper (which you did), celebrate the small win and move on. Keep doing practice papers and keep reciting your essays. Can't...

    high school typical interview questions?

Congrats! I'll add on to the lovely advice given by ExtremelyBoredUser. Here are some really fun tips for your interview. See if you can do a bit of research about NSGH. Lurk around their website and skim through their latest newsletter. During the interview, throw in some stuff you read...

    Advanced to standard english

Like the others have suggested, I think you should just stick with advanced. You'll be doing the same amount of work for less scaled marks.

Should I get a job during Year 12?

Apply for it. And, whilst it might be a crap move, realise that you can quit at anytime. If the stress piles up, quit. If it doesn't, stick in there for a bit. Personally, I worked during my HSC, so it's very doable. Make yourself a routine, and try to get a bit of study in everyday. Make notes...

making use of term 3 holidays for yr 12 term 4

Just set a study routine and follow it. Like others have said, you don't have to grind. You'll be just as effective without the whole grind thing. Download some other people's notes, print them out and just take some time to go through them. Make notes where you need to on their notes instead...

    Anyone know of extra curriculars?

Well, I taught a bit at Strathfield. I'd suggest you just take a couple lessons with a friend, and then just start making it a regular thing with some friends.

    Anyone know of extra curriculars?

Lmao, I also play tennis. I've also taught it for the lols before too. If your hand-eye coordination is pretty good, you'll be awesome at tennis in no time. If it isn't, it won't take long to get there. Local libraries sometimes offer these types of classes. If piano is just something you want...

    Anyone know of extra curriculars?

Do it. Piano is not as hard you think it is. You get at a very decent level in a short amount of time. Practice a bit everyday, fiddle around with the keys, take lessons, and just be patient with it. After a month, you'll be able to play a couple of easy songs. After 3 months, you'll be able to...
