CAFS IRP - Please complete my survey! It would help me significantly! :)

That definitely is a very interesting, and most importantly, relevant topic to explore especially considering today's world. With students having been locked up over the last 2 years (whether they are HSC students studying for exams or just general students being locked up due to the pandemic)...

    2021 LAT Results

Congratulations to everyone who successfully completed the LAT ... I didn't do it myself, but I have heard from other people who have written it before that it is a very difficult exam, so well done to everyone. 👍

Ocean Vuong on English Paper 1

I've never gotten the purpose of complaining or sending abusive messages after an HSC exam, whatever subject it may be for. Markers will still mark exams according to a set marking scheme, and what will happen is just that there will be lower benchmarks for set Bands (for e.g an E4 in 4U maths...

    Math Advanced Prediction/Thoughts

I'm pretty sure that if the aggregate of raw marks are significantly lower this year than in previous years, then they will accommodate by potentially lowering benchmarks for different bands. I understand some people's frustration, but honestly, everyone seems to be on the same playing field. I...

    Maths Ext 2 Predictions/Thoughts

I guess you do have to be very careful with accelerating subjects. It can sound like a good way to lighten the load in Year 12 (as you correctly mentioned), but it can also have its disadvantages. For example, accelerating a subject requires a lot of maturity and dedication, and schools which...

    Maths Ext 2 Predictions/Thoughts

Yh, they have accelerated 2U (which I'm sure many schools provide), but not accelerated 3U or 4U, which I believe the discussion prior to this was about.

    COmplex Region

So as mentioned so far, the graph would be a hyperbole graph but on all 4 quadrants, because as Trebla said, there should be an absolute value. You then know that the shaded area will lie on the lines and outside, as with a hyperbole, anything above means greater.

    ICanStudy

You were close with the saying, I believe it's 'You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink', which just means that you can give people as many opportunities as they want but they need to have the desire and willpower themselves to take it and make the most use of it.

    Maths Ext 2 Predictions/Thoughts

It's interesting, because from the school I went to (a top 10 selective school), they never offered any options of accelerating maths. Is it something which the top selective schools just don't offer (like Ruse, NSB, NSG, BHHS, etc) or does it depend on the school and the calibre of the students?

    Maths Ext 2 Predictions/Thoughts

I only thought there were certain subjects you could accelerate in Year 11 (like Modern History, IPT, Business Studies, etc). I've heard of 4U students accelerating 2U in Year 11 (which obviously won't count for their HSC but can help the current Year 12 current), but never people accelerating...

can you highlight answers on the exam paper

No worries, and as jimmy mentioned above, it should be fine. For future exams though, make sure if you do need to write on the back or use another booklet to clearly mention it in black pen, just to make sure there aren't any difficulties which may arise.

can you highlight answers on the exam paper

I think the computer scans and marks the exam paper in black and white (maybe why they ask students to strictly use black pen), but they will also manually check the exam, so they will make sure not to miss out on any page which has working out and answer. I think as you mentioned it, they will...

    Maths Ext 2 Predictions/Thoughts

It will most likely take up the most time of your subjects (and should rightly so as it will comprise of 40% of your entire HSC). It is definitely rewarding with its alignment in the HSC, but that doesn't mean you should RELY on it. As said above, put in the hard work (a consistent grind), even...

    marking

Fair point ... but I don't think teachers, just like with any job, should be primarily motivated by salary. You would hope teachers just want one thing at the end of the day, and that is their students succeeding in school (whether it be in HSC exams or in Year 7). Salary should just be...

    Ancient History Predictions/ Thoughts

Damn, that sounds awful, albeit, something definitely not in your control. Hopefully you and the rest of the cohort aren't affected too much by it (if your principal sent an appeal, then they should understand your situation).

    2 mark proof question

That does seem like a valid way of going about it (I think there must be various ways to go about it, so as long as you could set your answer out and it made sense in a chronological manner, then it should be fine). I guess with the topics of proofs, what makes it nice is the level of...
