I don't get tutored and came 1st in the Yearly exam in a top 10 school. I didn't even write notes.

I reckon ~15, 10 is a bit low to be frank. We got 8/23 100s last year, and there are 45-50 99.95s. 15 is a reasonable guess. Also maths isn't really required to get 99+. I know a guy in my school that does no maths and his estimate is 99.45 and another girl that does no maths and is on 99.2...

If you're intelligent enough it's not very hard to get 99+. 93 aligned in every subject is a more than realistic aim for a lot of people. There are people that I know, that expect to get 99.95 and 80% chance they will. When you're averaging ~98% in all your subjects it's virtually a given...

I do Extension 1 and I swear almost every 2nd word. Fucking and fuck and fuckoffski are peppered throughout my spokeon vocabulary. The difference is it goes right out the window when I write essays/creative writing pieces.

How the fuck did you get 99/100 raw in Modern? I'm aiming 96-97 raw (I got 78/80 in Prelim) but christ 99 implies 2 25 essays.

Just relax. These last weeks of Year 10 will be the least stressful of your life (not joking). If you're really really keen you could start work in January, but I didn't, and I'm doing just fine. The only thing you can really work on is maths, or read/watch your texts for English if you know...

Who gives a shit it's school cert. I studied nothing and my lowest mark was 89, and I finished all exams with 30 minutes to spare minimum.

Kinda explains that 79 in HSC English mate. Atm I'm doing 2-3 hours a night, mainly Maths, some Chem some English. I don't actually read my texts for English either if they're shit (Emma etc), but I just get a general plot outline and do quotes techniques. I read/watch my supplementary texts...

The first thing a JR kid says after everyone gets an exam back - What did you get? The top girl in our school refused to give me her Eco notes because I wasa threat to her in the exam. I beat her anyway. She subsequently dropped Eco (not because of me though).

I'd say keep them all. It's a good combination. Off that list I do Modern (considered History Ext, took Ext 2 Maths instead)and Adv + Ext 1 English (considered Ext 2, took Ext 2 Maths instead). But I'd be more than happy to help with any of those 5 units.

Drop Physics or Economics. If it's not counting don't do it. It's not like it's a tie, and the marks arent that good that droppping it would be a cardinal sin (explains why I didnt drop Chem, I got 93%, even though I dislike it, I've come to appreciate it as a good way to get high marks, ditto...

You can never finish the 4U course. There's always more to do =D
