HSC rewards consistency, do well through the whole year and you marks will reflect that. stuff around all year and CRAM!! for stuvac and come out with a great mark... tough luck really.. its not the fairest system i guess, but thats the way it goes..

rank rank always rank. they take your school marks, eg your 82 in VA and look at ur HSC external mark, which might be 90. And they will say "ohh, her teacher must have marked quite hard, lets bump it up to 90" On the other hand... 82 in VA, and in the hsc you only got 75... "damn, her teacher...

how exactly do you people come to the estimates you give people, i understand that good ranks in a good school = high UAI. But nobody knows anything of the cohort that year, a school ranked in the 700s might have a top year this year, and UAC uses complicated scaling and formulae... but here it...

sorry for dumb question? but what do they look at when you apply for post grad entry into these school, like the AGSM and ASB ? is it the marks you got in your undergrad or work experience or something more ?

more unfair than getting a 0 cause ur so sick you couldn't do the paper? even the board gives estimates for the HSC if for instance someone close dies the night before an exam and you cant concentrate (misadventure i think) it would be annoying if your estimate is less than what you expected...

work : P i photocopied countless notes for half yearlies, otherwise a teacher at school if u get on their good side
