    There are always exceptional cases like this one where the system won't give the best result. It still doesn't change the fact that for people who do average/moderately well in humanities, the scaling system is quite fair.

    ENTER is directly equivalent to ATAR - will be renamed ATAR next year actually. As for OP/IB, I think the different TACs decide on a conversion rate every year.

    No, they use a conversion table system to change IB scores into 'equivalent' selection ranks, like what they do with Queensland's OPs.

    How is it a 'scam' that private schools set different trial exams? The moderation process means that all that would affect is the relative assessment mark between different students at the same school. And there's no real benefit in having an easy trial paper, because when it comes to the HSC...

    I've been told by my school that Board regulations stop them from telling us the total mark, but we're allowed to know our rank and all task marks, obviously. They think it's a stupid rule since we can just work it out ourselves anyway, but I guess it's just to stop misunderstandings like this...

    There's a guy at my school who got no band 6s or E4s, and managed 96.60.
