    Level of detail.

Yeah I know- it pisses me off. I think if we had a question on Meissner, I would answer it like this: The Meissner Effect refers to the expulsion of a magnetic field from a superconductor. In its superconducting state, surface currents flow to a penetration depth which induce a magnetic field...

I don't think you need to know about vortex pinning for Meissner (I thought it was quantam pinning but they'll be the same thing). For BCS theory, I would probs go along the lines of the lattice distortions -> positive charge -> phonons -> creates Cooper pairs which place the electrons in a...

    n-type doping question

N type-> more electrons -> get added to a donor level right below the conduction band -> the energy gap between this and conduction band is tiny so very small amounts of thermal energy allow promotion to conduction band where they conduct-> therefore greater conductive properties. Two very...

How to answer this short question?

I'm guessing power of writing= the ability of the piece of writing to influence the responder. For example, if the second paragraph had some emotional appeal, or first person or insert other BS techniques, this would increase the power of the piece to convince or whatever.

    Complex Number Assignment

    Why is your first line: 1/Z = ((1+i)^2 + 2)/(1-i) ? It should be: 1/Z= ((1+i)(1-i) +2) /(1-i) because you are putting everything on top of 1-i

    Complex Number Assignment

I didn't get that- I just did it very quickly so it might be wrong but I got z=(1-i)/4. Care to post your working?

    Complex Number Assignment

I'll just give a few pointers and if you still need more help, then I'll write more: 1. Put the RHS all on the same denominator 2. Take inverses of both sides 3. Realise the denominator 4. Finished

You can't do that because you are assuming that the gravitational attraction remains constant at both heights which isn't true-> you have to calculate the different G.P.E's in order to take the weakening gravitational field into account

Haha yeah true- but all of your english units will defs count imo. For chem- do you write your own notes or do you read other peoples? If you want some sexy notes, I can give you like 6 sets of state rank notes from the BOS black market (~thug lyf)

    Irreducibility of a Fraction

Just making sure I've got the terminology right- just irreducible simply mean that there are no common factors in the numerator and denominator? So basically you can't make the fraction simpler? i.e. 2/4=1/2

I've got no idea tbh. All through the year I was pretty sure it would be phys that wouldn't count but then I did way better in my phys trial than my chem so my chem rank went down but phys went up and now I'm equal ranked in both haha. We'll soon see I guess. (if only english didn't have to...

I don't have time to write a full answer soz (hopefully someone else will) but this is the general idea: - Early on we had stuff like radios etc. that were based on thermionic devices to amplify signals etc.. These are crap -> unreliable, big, took time to start up. - In the 1940's, telephone...

ATAR estimate from Year 11 results, please

As you are first in all your subs its impossible to tell because its all up to you- your school won't bring you down if you go into the HSC ranked 1. The reason for the school rank is because if you are at a top selective school, I would call 99.95 but if you are at a 400's school, it could be a...

    Physics marathon (hsc)

Just a general idea of what else I would add- you probs know this but yeah, just in case. You can use Newton's law of gravitation together with centripetal force etc. to calculate orbital velocity (equate the two - use equations) which helps understand the motion of planets around the Sun. Talk...

    HSC Marks

HSC mark determines your band. For example, 85 exam mark, 95 assessment mark gives a 90 HSC mark which is a Band 6

Yeah I think that's how it works. Your 2U english doesn't neccessarily have to count if your 3/4U are better I think
