    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

https://photos.app.goo.gl/m2EovwamG5182pHy7 Here are my handwritten solutions. Kinda rushed these and i think I couldn’t be bothered with induction since it was pree easy. Lemme know if there’s any issues

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

I’ll check my notes to double check. I have digital solutions I coded until 12 something but I’ll confirm tonight

    Using 4U techniques in 3U

Hey there, was wondering if we are allowed to use 4U techniques such as implicit differentiation to \dfrac{d}{dt} both sides of an equation for related rates as its so much easier than using chain rule. If we cannot, is there an assortment of techniques we can use from 4U is there simply no...

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

This is for that 2000 projectile motion question. I mistook only 2 students finding an elegant solution to be only 2 students solving it in the state, whoops my bad

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

By the way these are my predictions for the ext exam. I'm predicting one of those SHM tide questions (like Heresy said) and a projectile motion final question with a bit of geometry. I'm hoping it'll just be a stock standard paper. I had too much fun with the LaTeX as you can tell haha 😂. I...

    iPad or MacBook

LaTeX is an industry standard for uni maths/ science students though. While i agree its good to learn it, i feel students like us will find it easier and faster to take notes by hand. Also idk if its the case for other schools but when i did SDD in prelims the school provided us with a computer...

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

yea esp the spinner question. That limiting sum wasn’t even difficult lol, honestly felt like a 2 unit question. As for 2013, the dynamic was weird, I felt the binomial definitely should’ve been last and the log/newton’s method q should’ve been before, maybe even 13.

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

Projectiles is just a lot of manipulation, once you start doing lots of q’s everything starts clicking and you can sorta see ahead to what a difficult question wants you to churn out. I’d suggest looking through Cambridge for tough problems or attempting 2008 projectile q7 slowly to consolidate...

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

2009. Geometry in general though is common, it was in 2009, 2008, 2006 and 2001. 2008 being the strangest with triangles within parabolas, still a very fun problem though! The style Reminded me of 2013 last question mechanics from the 4u paper.

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

I hope it’s as easy as 2017. That growth/decay question was MAD easy, even the parametrics was easy, I felt it was easier than 2014 q13 parametrics, those students got lucky. Can only imagine all the 100’s. Compared, I feel 2018 was way harder in order to balance the easiness. So i think they...

MX2 and Hospitality, a weird subject combo?

I went from the end of year 10 to the end of year 12. I would encourage going to tutoring as it really consolidates knowledge, however only do it if you are able to effectively manage your time and able to study after tutoring without getting tired as well. Remember, tutoring is NOT a substitute...
