when you draw a graph.. when do you extrapolate? when do you draw a line of best fit? do you start from origin? thanks

say for example..human trafficking you may initially talk about human trafficking blah blah blah and then talk about how this has evovled into a much more complex industry..like women and children are now trafficked for sexual exploitation.. i suppose that's one changing nature..
