Then he'll respond with the suggestion of half my wages. He's the sort of manager thats been to every store in our area, and is hated by every staff member he's worked with. And for the same reasons, consistently.

you have no fucking idea. I swear the latest one was nowhere near my fault though. On the upside, my SSM now has someone to give constant shit to. "Oh, since you're only half working, you can only have half a tea break" "Dude, just call armless. She can count half the pickup for you"...

Certainly is. I went for a sweet-as ride in our store managers car on Saturday. Except it wasn't sweet, coz it was our SSM taking me to the hospital. Nice car but. Shame I don't have a manual licence.

    Balancing Work & VCE

I worked 3 hours a week between May and November, and went back to full time hours within a few weeks of finishing exams. It works out so well.

(edited to avoid the most useless double post) I know that name. I just don't know from where. Okay, so she wouldn't have been HR spesh in my area. WAIT, I got it. Her name is still on the back of our toilet doors on the ad encouraging us to become bakery apprentices.

In my store, they go to cash office first, and then get allocated to your respective department manager.

I wouldn't even quit for year 12 - just work the bare minimum hours that you can so that you have a job to go back to. Remember how many people are looking for work around Oct-Dec each year.

the 'not permanently' clause is obviously not being adhered to in some stores. I agree that say once a year we should be issued with new shirts, but I've not seen anyone in my store be issued a new shirt by HR other that at uniform changeover between white and green, and on starting employment...

Which is why people are allowed to wear white shirts, and green shirts are a tax deductable item. idk what area you're in, but there's no way that our HR people would just hand shirts out when they were needed. Actually, the HR officer was in white on friday and saturday.

Its not about HR running out, its about people being too lazy to buy their own. I massively tore mine down the front today. And I saw our regional compliance chick today in one of the fitted shirts, she looked pretty good. We had an interesting conversation about my useless arm. And...

Who'd you get? I probably won't know them though. And yeah, white shirts are fine. Half my store is in one.

I have always signed on/off for meal breaks, unless I'm taking a meal + tea break together, but even then I would use the emergency sign on sheet.

Okay, so I've just had a look on the WorkCover WA site, and they make it very clear that you are only eligible for compo if you are unfit for work altogether - which I am not. I'm still capable of doing stuff, I have supervision shifts this week that I will be fine for as long as I do not have...

Part of the issue though with that is that there WAS a preexisting injury which possibly contributed to the dislocation - I have a medical condition that makes my joints far too flexible, so that force probably wouldn't have been an issue for anyone else. So actual workers comp is never going...

Pretty much. He was like "I'll take that" but didn't even give me a second to let go. Fuckwit. And then today, I took my sling off on my lunchbreak because it was hurting my neck, but then couldn't get it back on. So one of the bakery boys decided he was going to help me put it back on...

My SM did say I was dealing with it rather well ;) But he wasn't the one that had to dress me after I'd been to the hospital, lets just say I'm VERY well acquainted with one of the relief SSM's.
