    Oblique asymptote

Yes but that was just an aside. The topic is about finding oblique asymptotes in curve sketching, which is a part of the Extension 1 course.

    Terry Lee Textbook

Well some of Lee's editions were missing pages. Also, they were black and white, but now they are colour. Coroneos is good for theory I think. Although it doesn't fully cover the 4U course due to amendments that were made in 1989.

    physics or chemistry

Having done both courses, I think HSC Physics is better because I hate memorising. Of course if we got a paper like the 2009 paper every year, HSC Physics would indeed be purely understanding... just like the old HSC Physics course...

    Oblique asymptote

Why? This stuff is well within the scope of the Ext 1 Maths course...

    Oblique asymptote

There also another way by "inspection" to determine horizontal asymptotes. If the degree on the numerator is equal to the degree on the denominator then a horizontal asymptote exists. Its equation is: y=\frac{\text{coeff. of leading term on numerator}}{\text{coeff. of leading term on...

    Oblique asymptote

That wouldn't work. You'd need to divide it out first.

    Help: Geometrical Applications of Calculus

These are from MIF. I think I've done solutions for these. I might scan and post them up later.

Need to get the rest of my textbooks -- urgent!

I don't think that my school bought them in the literal sense. More likely what happened was that our head of mathematics knows some other teachers from other various private schools and got a copy of them. She told us that she tried to contact the publishers of the solutions to buy them but...

Need to get the rest of my textbooks -- urgent!

They definitely do exist because I have them for two topics (Binomial/Perm/Comb/Prob and Applications of calculus to the physical world).

I don't think so. I was merely mocking HSC sciences :P

Assess the impacts of Leibniz' and Newton's contributions to calculus on society.... :haha: OR Consider the word SOCCER. How many: (i) six-letter different arrangements [1] (ii) selections of 4 letters [2] can be made from the word SOCCER?

That it was too long and hard to be included as a fair test of the 4U course.

Find the exact volume generated when the area between the curve y=ln2x, the lines x=0 and x=2 and the x axis is rotated about the y axis.

3 Unit Revising Marathon HSC '10

My class mates didn't have much trouble understanding it. In addition, this is definitely not 2U material because in 2U you don't deal with finding roots of equations that have a degree higher than quadratics.

Well that's how my teacher taught me in Year 11.
