Yes, as others have said analyse the textual content primarily. THEN analyse the features of a website (colours, fonts, images etc). Ask yourself WHY the fact that it's a website makes it different to, say, a newspaper article? A novel? Immediacy? Lack of verisimilitude? etc etc Ok...

If it stops resembling the original image when you resize it, consider only using a selection of the image rather than the whole thing. I know microsoft photo editor allows you to crop parts of images.
