    Combinations and Permutations

yes its wrong..ill attempt it agian to pick any three letters there are 9p3 ways let the a's be a1,a2,a3 so if there are 3 a's it would be a1,a2,a3 ..there are 6 ways of arranging these that the 9p3 took in account but we only ned one hence (-5) from 9p3 next, if a1,a2 or a3 are...

some ppl r just too good

    integration problemssss

yes keypad thats wha t i was thinking

    What are your standards??

as long as i get 99.3 i dont give a shit..well band6's is the scicens / maths so if i get into aero at syd i may do the adv cources if i want
  6. nike33

is this ridiculous, or just a rumor?

they need to intoduce a extension physisc / extension chemistry...1u each cources!!!!!!!! (also keep englsih adv compulsery but make it so it doesnt compulsery count!)

What can i do about Maths????

its not worth it to do anything like that to a math teacher...who do you think marks ur assessments? neway i have a friend who did 4u by correspondance and got 98 in 4u maths last year..dont blame the teacher or the books..., blame urself

    Optimum angle of projection

in the example you gave you would assume gravity is the only force then possibly assume it..if you have time show range = ......and it follows sin2@=pi/2 is a max...@ = pi/4
  9. nike33

    Optimum angle of projection

the optimal angle in EVERY case is not 45%...even on the earth, the angle is slightly less due to air resistance..but in one example i did earlier this yr (cant even remember the qn) the optimal angle worked out to be 38 degrees..i dont think that was 3u tho...maybe 4u?

    What are your standards??

    > 70 in english :(

some ppl r just too good

yeah..as long as you get into you r desired uni course, the rest doesnt matter
  12. nike33

    Integration q... im stuck...

i guess if u practive u just see it :(..
  15. nike33

    Integration q... im stuck...

e^-x = 1/e^x so e^-x / (1 + e^2x) = 1 / (e^x(1+e^2x)) you can now do partial fractions(have you done this yet? ..but in general when the numerators a low number1,2 etc/ or works out nicely its bettter / easier to just observe (saves time in exams!)
  16. nike33

    Integration q... im stuck...

not with simple ones like that...just sorta look at it and see waht it equals ie e-x ------- 1 + e2x = 1/e^x - e^x/(1+e^2x) which is easy to intergrate
  17. nike33

    Integration q... im stuck...

    notice it equals 1/e^x - e^x/(1+e^2x)

Some More Questions to Think About

    5. If a, b, c, d, e and f are six positive real numbers, such that a2 + b2 + c2 = 16 d2 + e2 + f2 = 49 ad + be + cf = 28 show that (a + b + c) / (d + e + f) = 4 / 7 [Hint available] if you havent done the last one...(did this thismorning on the trian..sad i know) heres hint.. ie...
  19. nike33

    Integration q... im stuck...

    = int 1/[e^x(1+e^x)] = int 1/e^x - int(1/(1+e^x)) which is ezy

Who's aiming to get above 90 this year?

personally..i agree with what u say lobster..but alot of ppl dont want to go to uni and hence their 'learning' will be what they learn in the HSC (or lack thereof :P)
