    General exam question

Hi. I have a question about just exams in general. Do we have to pass the final exam to pass the unit? Or can we fail by a bit if the rest of our assessments can keep us above 50% overall? I just need to know what is and what isn't, because I'm a little worried about the heavy weighting of...

    USYD Roll Call 2012

Bachelor of Science, reporting in. :) I'm pretty stoked to be going to Sydney Uni, but it's been an absolute headache trying to get REASONABLY priced accommodation. Mum's keen to shove me into this $350/wk apartment which is infinitely closer to UTS, and I just don't want to pay that much...

Post Your 2012 University Offers Here!

B Science at Sydney Uni. Totally didn't expect it at all. Didn't even know I still had it on my UAC preferences; thought I'd replaced it with Biomed@UTS, but apparently not. Cut-off was 82.10 this year, my ATAR was 80.35. Finally, living in a regional area pays off :D Any other Sydney Uni-goers?

    First in Course List

I know the guy who topped general maths. Good ol' nicky :D Makes me wish i did general maths now, i could've given him a run for his money in it.

Why tears are wasted on HSC results

roryclifford knows what he's on about. And frankly, HSC is not the be-all-and-end-all of everything. These days you can do transfers into just about anything, so the road to your dreams isn't cut off entirely. Just...slightly detoured (Or maybe more than slightly, for some). But that all...

Which ATAR range does yours belong to? (pun not intended) *vote now*

You gotta be kidding. Same as me :D And now i'm feeling incredibly inadequate now, compared to all you 95+'ers. Thanks a lot :(

    Anyone bomb their HSC?

80.35 here. Needed an 88 for medical science. The amount of bombing out was probably caused by a lack of motivation and general apathy for school. I'd been there for 13 years, i just wanted to get the hell out of there. Grabbing me some bonus points and I'll be doing biomedical science at UTS...

happy but want to kill myself?

Oh no, 89s everywhere. How will you survive? Seriously, grow up. An 89 is 1 different to a 90, and a shiny little award for getting straight 90-somethings is cool and all, but really it's a trivial little thing, and will most likely have no real influence on your life. If you feel inferior...

    HSC ATAR Drinking Game

Well, crap! 20 shots coming my way eventually. This can only go well :)
  15. Awkward_Ninja

How did your parents react to your marks?

You've got to be kidding? You were THAAAAAT close to a 95, it shouldn't matter. Unless, of course, that 0.2 was the difference between you getting into a course or not. When i told my parents my ATAR, they said 'Yeah, great.' and all that stuff. They didn't say it, but I could see in their eyes...

Why tears are wasted on HSC results

Well, i missed out on medical science (88.00) with my 80.35, but i'm going to UTS, and i'm going to finish my degree, and when i do, i'll be the first person in my family to actually finish a degree. And you know how i'll finish my degree? On medical science (Or another degree, if there's a more...

    Share your 2011 ATAR here

80.35. Much lower than what I was expecting :( Well, I'm done.
  18. Awkward_Ninja

    band 6 cut-off.

Hoping the cutoff isn't a massive jump from last year, although this years was much easier than last years, in my opinion. mid to high 70's please.

    Medical Physics Option

Medical physics was probably the easiest part of the exam for me, which was really surprising. Absolutely killed the 6 marker question, so if i don't get a 5 minimum for that, i will not be happy. Thinking 20/25 minimum for the option overall :)))
  20. Awkward_Ninja

    Whats this years Cut-off?

Easiest exam in the world. Unfortunately if i thought it was easy then everyone else would've thought it was easy, so i reckon cut-offs will be heaps higher than last year. 80-something raw for band 6, mid 70s for band 5, 60-something for band 4, and i really don't want to go any lower...
