I suggest concentrating on learning the material, and then difficulty will be irrelevant. Aren't you going to university to learn? Why would you want easier tests?

Free elective!!! Easy and low contact hours

Cyberlaw 2.0 (GENL2032) is really interesting and it's only 3 hours per week. The assessment is 10% participation, 30% 1000 word case study, and 60% 3000 word essay. Easy as! And the lecturer (David Vaile) is awesome.

The UNSW Mathematics Society welcomes you to UNSW

Sigh. Unfortunately, in Australia, even on a forum dedicated to tertiary studies, academics and intellectuals are taunted by morons. I'm sure you'll probably say something like "it's just a joke", and hordes of imbeciles who find a six second Youtube clip from the Simpsons to be the height of...

    UNSW undergraduate welcome day

First day there is usually an exam that all first year students need to take. Nothing to worry about though, they just use it to determine which classes and tutes you can take. Don't fail though because they usually politely ask those students to go to UTS after first semester.

How do you change your timetable?

It's easy. 1. Go to myUNSW. 2. Go to My Student Profile. 3. Click on 'Update my enrollment'. 4. Follow the prompts - click swap to change or drop if you want to drop the unit. 5. Withdraw from UNSW because if you can't figure this out there is no hope for you.

    Semester 1 UNSW Chatter Thread

Re: general UNSW chit-chat I have a question. Is everyone at UNSW a gigantic baby who needs an adult to hold their hand and explain everything to them, or is it just most people who post on BOS?

    UNSW Building Rules

Actually if you stay in a building for more than three hours you will be escorted off campus by university security and a permanent mark for loitering will be made against your transcript.

What clubs and societies are you joining?

I was considering joining until I watched last years revue Youtube and it was absolutely awful. I got the impression that everyone involved believes that simply stating a stereotype is the funniest thing in the world. No word play, no twist, no misdirect, nothing that would normally make a joke...

We are in the same COMP tute. It looks strange though, it seems to be scheduled in two different rooms? I wish I could schedule all my classes after 2pm! Night classes rule.

    Comp Sci Maths & Electives

Yep, that's what I'm going to do, try to take it easy with the maths in first semester. Why are the tests in second semester easier?

    Comp Sci Maths & Electives

Ah, thanks, I didn't see that. Looks like as a Comp Sci student, you have to take MATH1131, and can't do 1011 instead.

    Comp Sci Maths & Electives

It's been a while since I did maths in High School, so I was wondering if it would be a good idea to take the fundamentals class (MATH1011) in Semester 1, and then do Discrete (MATH1081) and MATH1131 in Semester 2?
