2011 - HSC difficulty. (1 Viewer)

Is it me for a few random questions being added into a few papers that the general make up of the paper has been easier in respect to previous years....

English = easier than past
Modern = easier than past
Gen Math = easier than past
Business = easier than past....

Geog = hoping follow suits..

thoughts?
my teacher said it was due to the new release of teachers syllabus / or w/e?

Mathematics= On par, but i suck -.-

+1, you cant make accurate comparisons because youre not taking into account exam pressure for past exams you havent actually done under proper exam conditions. its all relative in the end

This is my opinion about 2011 HSC

English: Easier, except module B
Chemistry: Slightly bit harder than last year
Modern: Easier
Maths 2u: Easier but more time consuming
Maths 3u: MUCH HARDER
Physics: We'll see tomorrow

I spoke to my teachers about this, since EVERY single one of my exams were much easier than past papers. They think it might have to do with the raised leaving age, as more and more people, who would have usually left school, are sitting the HSC.

SOR1: Same
Math 2U: Same
Math 3U: Same
Biology: A lot harder
Chemistry: Harder

My own thought:


Chemistry - same difficulty
Ext 1 - definitely harder
2 unit - harder
English - harder because they specified a text
SOR - harder because short answer was on 1 area (all 3 questions)
Physics - not sure.

Have you guys been sitting tests from another country?. Biology was the most difficult in many years. English was quite difficult. Physics no doubt will be a bastard.

I have also heard that MX2 or 1 had the most difficult test ever.

I thought the difficulty varied.

English = Okay (a bit harder than expected - Module B of course)
Extension English = Okay (a bit harder than expected because of the random stimuli)
Ancient History = Easy
Legal Studies = Okay (harder than expected)
History Extension = Okay (Q.1 was just random as fucked - harder than expected)
Music 1 Aural = Pretty Good

English = same

2U = around the same

bio - harder in a weird way.
legal - syllabus changed, but i'd say sort of more challenging

i think you're kidding yourself if you say that these were harder than last year... ESPECIALLY BUSINESS STUDIES.

MX1 - harder
MX2 - same
Legal Studies - harder (and harder than trials)
Music II - easier

I didn't think the exams (I did) were harder per se, they were just a bit weird, really.
Like, the focussed on different things all the exams did and tended to be more specific? I dunno.

Like, business studies was all globalisation and financial :/

My two cents worth:

Business: Definately easier than past papers
English: Slightly easier overall but Module B was tricky
Maths: Easier but I still stuffed it up
Ext 1 Math: Harder
Eco: Easier overall but few multiple choice were tougher than usual
SOR 1 Unit: About the same but all three on significant person threw me off a bit.
Legal: Much harder than CSSA trial. New sylabus though so hard to say
