Yes I am thinking about it. I will start doing it seriously after few weeks time and in the meantime just read about UMAT and understand more about it. Unfortunately being in a rural area, I do not have opportunity like others do so have to mostly rely on internet stuff and learn from it

Gets 99.95 atar but doesnt do umat: goes into any uni you want but no med related field

Gets great umat but medium atar: limits amount of uni opportunities and still cant get into med.

Weigh up the advantages/disadvantages

You can pretty much get into any course with that atar

To add on that only 1-2 ppl get less than 90 in ruse

If I had went to James Ruse, I would've still wanted to get into actuarial and succeeded with 97.5+ as I did with my chosen school.

Therefore my care factor for James Ruse ATARs is 0.

My CARE factor, lies in the people who represents us in the Olympiads

No average of ~90 atar are like top ~30 ranked schools
I know this because PLC's avg atar was low 90s and they're like mid 20s rank

This policy only applies if you get the required atar. Ie. If you get 99.30 ATAR and Dux your school you will not get into Law at USYD.

Where do you come up with these absurd stats? The average atar at Ruse is 97.00.

Is there any reason why it's specific to 99.30?

Because I have noticed that my school's dux got in with 99.35

Sorry, it was just a basic example. What I trying to say is that if you get anything below 99.50 (iirc that's the cut off for Law at USYD) and still dux you will not be guaranteed a place for Law. Your school dux probably had other features that made him applicable.

Edit: Actually, I think he was ONLY eligible for the dux scheme in that list.

Wait, so whats the point of introducing a dux scheme if you still get in even if you missed cutoff by 0.3
