hopefully i can try to get that high when my turn comes around next october/november :)
what can you do with a 99.95 that you *can not* do with a 95+, nothing cept medicine and law, mmmm, sounds like a worthwile investment of 10hrs+ study a day

Considering a lot of people want to do Law and Medicine - I think it's a worthwhile investment. :)

Yeh heaps of people want to do both law and med, and they both have huge salaries after a few years of progression up the jobs ladder, 99, can get you places that a 95 can't, that's not to say 95 isn't going to get you anywhere, thats what im aiming for anyway.

Yeh, no doubt you'll can earn heaps with lower marks, but there's less risk in terms of making money, with jobs within the medical and legal proffesions. I mean builders can make heaps, but it's all dependant on the housing market at the time, thus it can be very risky. I mean some specialist doctors are earning $600-700+ an hour, and they'll always find employment.

Actually, you can still do medicine at UWS with 95.00. And if you have a high UMAT score, and a successful medicine faculty interview, UNSW MB BS, Newcastle University/UNE B Med, Monash MB BS and JCU MB BS are all possible with a 95.00 ATAR.

USyd Medicine isn't as good as it's cracked up to be. It's a B Sci (Med) or B Sci (Adv) combined with a postgraduate degree in medicine and surgery, an MB BS. The only advantage you gain from being accepted straight out of school (and they only accept ten people) is that you are guaranteed entry into the postgraduate MB BS without having to sit for GAMSAT.

You could get 95.00, do the B Sci (Adv) at USyd in 3 years, then sit the GAMSAT and be successful in the interview and gain entry into the 4-year MB BS. Same result, lower ATAR, one extra test and interview. So why bother getting 99.95? Bragging rights is the only reason other than arrogance/egotism.

it's rather more than 10 ppl they accept i think =]

lol. all your alternatives require high marks elsewhere [e.g. high interview/umat] or more effort [e.g. gamsat]. there are perks of a 99.95 atar =]

if you can get enuff for the course you want to do, atar shouldnt reeli matter

whether you get 95 or 99.95, if its enuff then your all good to go:)

lol at the bragging rights thing

ppl often set themselves targets to achieve and work for, 99.95 is a great one to do so. To attempt to degrade this as a tryhard approach is a fickle way of thinking.
