Re: Band 6 Raw?

The style of questions seem to have changed. I think it was harder in the sense it was trickier. The later questions seemed easier but the middle 4-7 seemed a lot harder than previous years. But fuck, it was hard :/

WTF?
Is there something wrong with you.
This was harder then 2003 paper.
as said ^^ it was the hardest Q5-8 ive ever seen and me and box have seen pretty much every question in the past HSCs there are. my prediction for myself RAW 86-100/120 so im hoping for the best.

Would this be enough for a band 5?

I looked through the paper again and guessed what i got right and wrong, and also gave account for stupid mistakes,

so would a raw mark of 80/120 be enough for a band 5?

This was harder then 2003 paper.
Ahaha. Just no.
There were a few tricky questions, set out differently and with less information/more need for thought [oh look, a trend with our year's papers] required, but that was a few questions and if you can think, most of them were fine.
Otherwise, the rest of the paper was relatively easy. Maybe not as nice as say, the 05 paper, but still pretty good.

As for the cut-off... no idea. I'd say maybe average. Probably 90 - 100/120.

Re: Would this be enough for a band 5?

yes... 80/120 = low band five given the difficulty of it compared to prev. years ... so probs around 82%.

i think minimus band 5 would be around 77/120, and band 6 88/120

Re: Would this be enough for a band 5?

In 2003, apparently a 72/120 alligned to 83%.
And am I right in saying this year's paper was by far the hardest in the last decade or two?
So, *Looks optomistic* Somewhere in the 70's. :)

Re: Band 6 Raw?

haha cmon guys it wasnt that bad, was really an average paper, just maybe a little trickier haha....rollercoaster question tripped me out a bit but i figured out what u had to do after 5 minutes, it was actually pretty easy but it made u think

anyways, im not trying to appear cocky or boast but what range of aligned marks would 105-115 fall into?

thanks haha :)

Re: Band 6 Raw?

i think 70/120 will scale to band 5, 78-82 band 6.

lol definitely harder than last year....
That would be awesome, but I doubt it. We would be lucky if anything in the 80's made it to a band 6.

Re: Would this be enough for a band 5?

BUT,
im estimating your internal maths mark to be around 66.
With a low band 5 mark in HSC.

You will probably have a total of low band 4 for maths :D

nah man, you will do good, i estimate 95+ ATAR

Re: Would this be enough for a band 5?

Considering the difficulty of this exam is harder compared to the other years, yes? This kinda gives me hope for a band 5 at least. I can say goodbye to band 6.

Don't exaggerate it's difficulty. Try looking at 2003, or q10's from 2000 or 2001.
