I'm also left handed but do prefer to more larger of pens so my nails dont dig into my palms (I have long fingers) Although, for your query, I'd recommend papermate ... they're the clickable ones. (for the life of me I can't rememver what they're called but here's an image link)

It's smooth, it's comfortable. not to thin, not to thick and I personally like it because they have the perfect shade of blue ink.

There are so many pen threads o_O...

Just choose one that's comfy and doesn't smudge ink on the paper or feel like its really needing to be pushed hard to get the ink out - a good pen will just go.

As a left hander, I can;t use felt tip pens :( they make all my writing smudge and then my hand goes all blue and it doesn't come off  and also lead pencil fails if you are left handed, not so much that it smudges but you hand turns bright silver.

I use a fountain pen although the writing speed depends on the paper (^and no i don't think we're supposed to use pencils as it could easily smudge or fade?)

i found a papermate in my pencil case once, dont know how it got there, or the name of it.
it was brilliant, smooth, by far the best pen ive ever used. a blessing from nowhere.

it ran out of ink, 2 weeks later, on the morning of my english paper 1 trial.
i scourged the entire house for pens. i gathered 10, none worked. had to steal a heavy, shit one one off a mate at school.
it stopped working during the exam. had to borrow an even heavier one from a supervisor.
