yeh weston woodley and robertson are open til 31st August...so you can apply for that one. im sure there are a few other firms (mid-tier) that are still open for applications. The big 4 have all closed unfortunately. But if there is any compnay you really want to get into, you could give in your resume and coverletter and see if they respond*sasha* said:are there any other cadetships where u can still apply? or have i left it too late? my friend just got an offer from pwc and i just realised how good these things are!
Why?blackfriday said:btw: cadetships suck ass
for cadetships im not sure (although in my PwC interview...we had a guy from UTS, he might have been a first yearer though). even if they did, isnt the cadetship aimed at finishing your degree in 4 years? so if you were to commence your cadetship after your 2nd year, would they just make you work full time for the remaining 2 yrs?rofl. said:so the top tier dont take in 2nd years?
why do cadetships suck ass? lets see..icycloud said:Why?

1) you get paid less than a child care worker. (im a child care worker. i know)
2) working as a trainee is just debits and credits, well according to my friend who's doing a cadetship
3) the awesome-ness of uni social life is something you'll never experience at work (pointing the obvious out), but you wont be missing out on much if you do a hard double degree. i think its more important than you realise at this stage of pre-hsc naivety.
but with that said, cadetships do work out well for certain types of people. if you think sticking unearned revenue as a liability credit is stimulating fun, then go ahead.
You get the trainee grant when you are not working.=candii= said:is the trainee grant you get when you commence full time study in addition to the full time salary you receive?
i.e. say you study full time for semester 1 - you receive a trainee grant and then you also receive your full time salary in semester 2 when you commence full time work?
I personally would give them a call. If it's been 3 weeks... they might've just misplaced your email or details.hieuh said:heyy everyone .. well I applied a cadetship in Nexia Court . although i didnt get any calls from them i recieved a sms from UTS Bacc of ACc . When i checked my email i couldn't find any messages from them . It's been 3 weeks since i received the sms . Do u think i should ring up Uts, Nexia Court . Any advice?

Of course not. But then if you were a 1st year trainee, would you want to have such a responsibility?turtleface said:lol debits and credits is always associated with accounting
In auditng, I don't think you are allowed to Debit and Credit into other client's ERP systems.
That wouldn't be too bad...putting through dodged transactions and all. I think you can expect even worse, like referencing leadsheets (ugh), copying and pasting from excel (ugh) etc
But I guess its a case of what do you expect. As if a 1st year would be allowed to interpret whether a car really is worth $1 million or whether a hedge is effective enough to be recognised under AASB 139 or something.
