yeahh I want to learn it too but my teacher isn't going to help
i think i finally got it just need some feedback from the teacher which theyre going to do tmr yay i think the discussion/confusion for it lasted about 3 lessons (not the whole time but when we had spare time inbetween content) and watching videos did help + just did some application questions for it in a comparison between the reproduction of human and fungi but iam very doubtful of my response i dont think i was thinking critically enough lOLLLL

also we basically do the same subjects except for languages coincidencey :oldeek:

Ohhhh nice job, our teacher kinda skipped over those dot points and moved on to DNA and cell replication. If you sort it out in your head I'd really appreciate it if you could explain it a little :pold:
About subjects, that's really cool! Bio and eco is a pretty big workload but they are superior subjects  We can complain to each other loll

helpp lol i think our teachers are going in different directions cause we went from plant reproduction to human reproductive systems, menstrual cycle, pregnancy and now were at the selective breeding/genetic engineering part of bio i dont know if the teacher will go back on dna and cells or if its expected knowledge

i would not trust myself to give explanations since im not the best at putting thoughts to words + hate to have given you the wrong info so heres the vid we watched in class if its any help and if you really wanted to know in depth im sure you could ask your teacher during a lesson or something

i think my nicest teachers are in bio & eco cause theyre really chill and supportive (not that the others arent) but their lessons are usually the most engaging or enjoyable to sit through the eco teacher gives us lollies every lesson (i got a total of 4 today lOL) but half of the class is kinda like not invested in the subject so it sucks but yeah the lessons/resources are cool

it was really funny today cause halfway through the lesson someone brought up the US elections and then the teacher was relating it to how itd affect trade and all that but that reminds me of how the teacher also brought up AUS election last term and i dont need all that to be incorporated into our work next year

Seriouslyyy though, I think our teachers glossed over opposite topics which is sorta concerning... DNA and cells is pretty technical but I guess a lot of it was taught in junior school

Thanks for the vid - I'll look into it. I don't think my teacher wants to help lol

Lucky! My bio and eco teachers aren't very nice, but my maths and eng teachers are nice, so I guess that's something. I have to learn bio and eco myself but at least I like the subjects. We did do a modelling activity with lollies in bio though, for cell division :D

Someone also brought up the election in class yesterday but my teacher guessed that Kamala would win

i had to stew on this msg for a bit bc why the hell does it take me so long to write a reply but anyways id be mildly concerned abt my knowledge for dna and cells cause we're being assessed on the 1st point of inq Q.3 "Why is polypeptide synthesis important" but ill probably need a refresher on the more basic points soon

its unfortunate that the teacher doesnt want to help you out you could try working with your friends if they do the same subject otherwise itll have to be kind of an independent learning moment which is fine again im more than happy to discuss with you if you want but i genuinely cannot and do not trust myself in speaking facts i just revisited alternations of generations (link1 link2 link3) and how did i miss the fact that sporophytes are diploid but asexually reproduce and vice versa(?) for gametophytes ill need to look deeper into that and also i probably should start actually writing down what im uncertain with instead of marking it in my head ok revise pregnancy hormones and today we looked at cabbages and did some long response questions with kiwis and damn do they want the responses to be explicit...but anyways i think the teacher will tell you what is important and i definitely should be focusing more on pregnancy instead of how plants babies (andd were already moving onto new content noo)

we just gotta have parallels huh but im glad your eng and math teachers are nice to you i dont remember modelling cell division with anything physical but for mod3 bio diversity we did represented resource partitioning with m&ms and a fluid mosaic model with artsncrafts

got another mention of the elections today and the teacher was like "we knew that trump would win yesterday didnt we :(" but no further comment since we didnt have time to

Nooo like I take forever to write a message too but we're getting assessed on basically all of mod 5 except for the last little bit so I'm really worried

Yeah my friends are very helpful and great at bio so it helps, and I'm decent at just learning eco myself. We didn't look at pregnancy hormones that much but it's probably nothing to stress about now that our teachers are emphasising different things since our tests are written by our individual schools. For the HSC it could be an issue

You must love bio a lot, it's obvious from your username lmao it brought back memories

I think my eco teacher was too ashamed to talk much about it anymore because he was so wrong about everything yesterday lololl
