now i'm writing a prose piece for an assignment using a coffee and sun motif. year 7 me has no idea what's to come.

the protagonist's girlfriend died and she (#wlw representation) is recalling their memories and grieving while drinking her morning coffee. coffee was a big part of their lives so it's very nostalgia evoking but also gross bc her girlfriend made it better. then she almost chokes and dies but has an epiphany that 'to have loved and lost is better than not having loved at all'
wait I just thought of an idea. I can use the idea about how coffee is bitter at first but then as u get older u start to enjoy it more which can represent how the pain of grief can be difficult but over time we kinda learn to live life around it. And then coffee can get cold when u leave it outside for a long time so it can represent how when u try to avoid grieving it gets more painful and difficult to overcome or smth. But I don't want to write smth completely different cause there is no way I can write and memorise a whole piece and evaluation in one night. I might just wing the exam at this point and fail at this point

Idk if my teacher will like it cause every single English teacher always hates my writing. But idk if I should use the other one which I didn’t hand in to my teacher. Cause I feel like my teacher is very opinionated and like she will mark ur writing really bad if she doesn’t agree with ur view or like it

So real. Why has this year gone so fast!!!!!!! Lowkey I thought High School would last FOREVER like primary school felt like. Ugggggh, only so much time until we have to genuinely find our way in the real world. My lovely 2025er's, WE ARE SO CLOSE! I hope Trials and HSC go well.
General advice is to write about something you're passionate about and have first hand experience of. For me that's the hate of english so whenever possible with the prompts, I write some extended metaphor about hating english.
That’s what I do but then my teacher says not to write about it. I wrote about my crash outs over my exams and she told me to not write about it. And then when I write about other first hand experiences none of the teachers like them. But when I write smth fictional then they like it more even tho they always say to write from experience
It's gotta be abstract, like one mod c prompt was "write from a unique perspective", so i wrote from the perspective of my pen in an english exam
Ik but even if I write something abstract, if the subject matter isn’t smth that the teachers like they will still hate it.
