I am a PR but cannot afford the Uni fee upfront.



What options do I have?? How much do I have to pay upfront (I am doing Engineering)

Can your parents pay for your uni fees??? Surely you can pay them back later.

Probably at most, 10K, maybe for engineering it could be around 7K

$3142.50 for sem 1 if you're doing at UNSW next year. (maths, phys, 2 engineering) (could be the same at other unis)

I think I pay the first semester fee and for the second semester I can get HECS because by then I will have the citizenship.

Mind you that there will be other fees such as transport, living costs, impulse shopping, and importantly, textbooks, stationery, exercise books, maybe laptop etc.

I'm worried about this because it's a fee that I must pay to go to uni.


And I calculated to be around $3700

maths and phys (science) courses are cheaper (which you'll do for engineering)

Well; you could defer your coarse for a year and go and work full time.
That way you would at least have some income to pay for uni and its expenses, and when you start a year later, you could go on HECS then.
