Favourite Scene in a movie (1 Viewer)

What is your favourite scene in a movie?
I have two.
One is from one of my favourite movies, "The Royal Tennenbaums". The scene is the one where Richie tries to kill himself. The music (Elliot Smith [one of my fave. artists, RIP] "Needle in the Hay"), the lighting, the camera work, the dialogue...he stands in front of a camera, cuts off all his hair, shaves his beard, looks at the camera, says 'tomorrow, im going to kill myself', then slits his wrists...it is so simple, but honestly, it is one of the most powerful cinema moments I have experienced.

And the other is the Hakuna Matata musical interlude in the Lion King

The Big Chill- the dancing scene in the kitchen

my favourite scene is towards the end of the movie 'election' where jim throws the cup of coke at the car.

Carrie - the scene at their formal where she gets the pig blood on her. i pissed myself laughing. haha. so funny. and mum said it was a scary movie when she first saw it.

Donnie darko when Gretchen kisses Donnie for the first time...the sequence you described above...also the sequence where he burns down the guys house...Also the end sequence when he shoots the bunny rabbit...massive shock on first viewing...also any of the scenes invovling the 'chut up girl'

stop jerking off to that scene- no matter how good a kiss it looks

Actually that reminds me, my favourite shot in the movie would have to be where Donnie drops the gun. Grandma Death, the car headlights, Gretchen.. brilliant.

taxi driver - where travis is talking to the pimp, also the 'you talkin to me' part.

The scene in "The Towering Inferno" where they prepare to blow up the water tanks...

And the final dance/roller-skating sequence in "Xanadu" when the club opens.
