There is, look on the General Maths formula sheet.

I asked my teacher if we could use it, and he said that if we did, then we wouldn't get full marks as it'd be too easy.

Well, that's not really the formula. It's just the derivation using the geometric series. It's NOT applicable to all situations.

As a matter of fact, it's pretty much useless without knowing how to derive it from the first hand.

lol, yeah the formula doesn't always work, if theres a slight change in the question you're screwed

The formula probably wont work if there's a question involving delayed repayments. Like no repayments for the first 6 months. Interest still accumulates, though, so it get a little complicated.

But for the 'straightforward' ones the formulas should work.
