I don't even know his first name. And idk, our culture makes us address them by an asian term that translates to uncle in english.

my dad likes to slap his hands on his chest in rhythm, mkaing some kind of galloping noise. it some this like *clap slap-slap*. Actually works, but looks freakin stupid.

he also likes to make broken music with spoons n stuff while waiting for the microwave to count down. REALLY pisses off my mum n me.

Oh and he likes to strategically (ha!) place big words into his arguments when hes angry with me n my brother. upside is it takes the angry out of the situation (Y)

LOL I like this thread. I've got a really funny one!!! Lol well I think so anyway.

One day about 2 years ago I had nothing to do so I asked my dad to paint my toe nails red (out in our backyard coz all nail polishing work is prohibited indoors at my house... talk about toxic chemicals). And lol, it was just a joke BUT he actually didn't refuse!! (which i still can't figure out why till this day) but he started to paint my big toe with this teeny tiny brush, lol in all directions instead of doing it vertically. LOL and he had such a SERIOUS face like he's soo concentrating on getting it perfect. And I just stared at his big fat fingers holding on to this tiny nail polich brush, lol it was hilarious.

He'd never done it before and the look on his serious face and his eyes actually concentrating on my toe nail was just so hilarious. And I was thinking man he must really love me to say yes to colouring my toe nails. lol. But I had to fire him after he was done with the first nail. Lol I swear it's a true story.

my dad still sneaks up on me and scares me... ==
This. I got back at him yesterday by hitting his head with a rolled up newspaper.

And my dad makes really lame jokes.

'Dad, do you reckon we could buy a dog?'
'Why? I already have three dogs at home.' *cracks up laughing*
Me, my brother, and my sister are like -_-

Same with my dad. It gets annoying sometimes when you're trying to watch a show, and he's pacing behind the couch or leaning against the wall.

Dad works at night and sleeps during the day and every single evening without fail when mum wakes him up he makes this noise like he has become an undead zombie in his sleep, like a freaky groaning sound. Also even though he has had this sleeping routine for at least 20 years now, he still flips out when mum goes to wake him, as if he thinks there is an intruder in his room or something. He can't get out of bed like a normal person, he has to flail around and chuck pillows and groan like a zombie

My dad must have volume on multiples of five. He paces around (something that I have unfortunately picked up - although not to his extent) and pretends to be bowling cricket balls. He is also incapable with electronic things, and has tried to call people with remotes, use his house key in atms and multiple times sat in the back of a car and used the front seatbelt (in like two door cars). He never notices.

He also doesn't hear what you say, you have say "Harold, what are you doing" about four times before he turns to you and says "what?". If I call him dad when his is thinking he doesn't respond.

Also, you have to know how to approach him. Like for universities last year I was going to go to UTAS (far away from my family) and he chucked a hissy fit about it saying I have to go to ANU, USYD, UNSW or Mac, so I said thats it, I'm going to New Zealand (even further away from my family) and then a week later he had made lists about why UTAS would be better than NZ, and all the good things about Tasmania, and why UTAS is obviously the superior choice. I ended up going to NZ though.

Now I am going to go to UNE, even though he would rather I'd go back to ANU, or to UOW (and he was very clear that is where I should go) but then I told him I was going to stay here in NT with my mother and do distance education, and he started telling me about Armidale being a lovely town, and why I should go to UNE.

Its all about finding worse things. Now he has paid for all my flights to university just so he knows I am going there :)

My mother is also a bit crazy. My friends have told me many times that she scares them, because she drinks more, dances more and listens to louder House music than anyone I really know. She looks at acts young and its quite disturbing. People expect me to be like her, but I neither look nor act anything like her.

Mum had a massive argument with one of our neighbours about them making too much noise early in the mornings (like 4-5am, shouting, music, etc). It had been going on for a while and she was getting really annoyed. Anyway the next weekend when dad was off work she had a brain snap and spent the whole weekend playing her janis joplin cds at full ear splitting volume ALL DAY just to annoy them/get revenge.

It was bizarre because she normally just keeps to herself and is a nice agreeable person most of the time
