mao WAS propoganda. Sure he had some clever ideas as to how to manipulate the dumb zombie fucks that were the red guards (education system was a good way) but god damn it seemed like he had no heart at all.
if you want to take power in a primitive society that's what you have to do.

Hitlers biggest flaw was that he attempted to do too much, too quickly. One of the scariest things is that if he was not so ignorant of the incapacity of his nation's economy etc to fuel so many fronts for so long, and staggered the territorial movements, then in all likelihood much of his aspirations would have been achieved.....

Intelligent..maybe, but definately no genius... he was merely a front man in many instances, with the brains at the rear of the operations...

For all those who said that hitler is not intelligent and that it was merely his circumstance that allowed him to succeed, i didn't see many others that was able to do what he did...

And those brains at the rear of the operation being...?

mao was also brilliant
possibly the 2nd most famous person in modern history
Except Mao's atrocities aren't as well known because he didn't lose.

Hitler was an intelligent man, not necessairly of a genius quality but intelligent none the less and able to play alot of people.

Hitler's attempted extermination of Jewish people wasn't that unexpected. Anti-semitism was rampant throughout much of Europe (particularly in Germany) with many advocating for complete extermination before the turn of the century.

His biggest flaw was probably attacking Russia. Anybody would be hard pressed to fight Russia let alone fighting on two other fronts.

Joseph Goebbels, Ernst Hanfstangl, Albert Speer and the like...essentially, if Hitler had've applied more of the ideas and propositions placed forward by these men, notably Speer, the war would've been 'anyones game'...

Hitler was smart and manipulative. His stirring speeches and political manuevering eg joining up wth the harzburg front-a collection of right wing groups saw him rise to power. This was also helped largely by 'being in the right place @ the right time'. He made poor judgements though like believing the russian campaign would be over by the start of its winter and thus failed to supply his troops w/ winter clothing.

I think he was quite intelligent in a political view. He managed to manipulate and synchronise an entire nation underneath his leader ship in a matter of a few years. It would be a very stupid thing to say he wasn't an intelligent man. However that being said, intelligent doesn't mean he was compassionate or in anyway right in the head. His ideologies, especially regarding race are psychopathic at the least and I dont respect him at all.
