my rank was pretty crap overall but meh
i was happy i at least passed
i mean i failed the 1st 2 assessments 47% and 48% but for this 1/2 yrly i got 63%
ranked 4th in my Class
the grade all the 3u and 4u ppl aced it
top in the grade was 98%!
but in my 2unit class the 5 ppl that dropped from 3U did alrite
top was 90% then 73% then 68% and my 63% for 4th so 4 an original 2uniter thats alrite i think 4 me anyway-that was my class. i improved.
so yeah

good luck wit every1 else
maths was the only thing i got bak b4 hols

good to see you are happy with your improvement
just keep in mind, there's always room for improvement
i look forward to hearing your next assessment's marks
sounds like you're on the right track :)

good luck to me, my exams are in 1.5 weeks :(
heh, my class doesnt have students who do 3 or 4 unit and not 2 unit
we only got 3 ppl doin 3 unit, and no one doing 4 unit
as for the 3 ppl doing 3 unit, they are all doing 2 unit, and are top 3 in the class
so the top performers in 2 unit are basically the top in maths
LOL!
:O
thanks

how can they not be taught it? Isn't that a little unfair?
Yeah, the teacher's a noob. He felt that something they weren't being tested on was far more important than something they were.

Haven't recieved results yet, but it was terrible. It wasn't hard or anything, it was pretty easy. But I screwed up so badly on trig graphs, I'm not looking forward to recieving my marks. I was hopig for 85 to 90% but I am seriously doubting it at the moment. There goes my rank!

Most important thing for maths is to do the practice questions from past exams... omg... it's one thing to understand what u do in class and to answer the text book questions.. but HSC questions aren't written so kindly.

Also do many so ur time picks up.

in my 2 unit maths i got 93/96. which is about 96-97%.
i topped the class beating the 4 unit ppl too. which i guess i should have but i know they wouldnt have slacked off for this exam as they had 4 unit a week before it and being friends with them they dont like going bad in any of their exams.
im quite happy with the mark although some small errors cost me, from which i could have got full marks.

I'm sure they wouldn't have tried since it isn't going to count......

but it was weird.... the one test that doesn't matter for me and i dont try in it or study at all and is just done incase i ruin 4unit is the test i come first in.
I didn't even check my answers..
but when i check my answers and i go well prepared i don't come first :vcross:

specialists - real number system/groups test
40 people in my course
test was out of 70
average was 34.2
standard deviation was 8.33
my z-score was +0.5
highest was 48 with a z-score of +1.66
lowest was 18.5, with a z-score of -1.88

yet everyone in my class gets outstanding results in maths competitions and challanges. 1/4 of them get HD's, the rest would average with a distinction. goes to show how hard of a test our teachers set.

math methods:

function and series
~180 people in course
average was 49.4, out of 80, std was 16.6 (highest was 78 with a z-score of +1.7)
i got 70, with a z score of +1.24
lowest 20 scores were not released to public. i think the bottom 20 dropped out the day the results were posted up :)
