ilyetf, wrong. The UAC uses the raw examination mark, a moderated school assessment, an aligned school assessment and exam mark and an HSC mark to determine ATAR.

so wait, if you got like over 90 all year in all assessments for a subject, and you end up getting like 74 for the HSC exam, does the HSC exam mark get aligned with ur average mark of ur overall assessments?

OR by alignment, you mean with other schools?

If you get 90 all year in assessments for a subject, and you get 74 in the HSC exam - and you are first ranked in that subject and 74 is the highest mark from anyone in that subject at your school - you get 74 as your final HSC mark, a Band 4 result.

your school raw mark means nothing, just your rank and the gaps between ranks.

Haha, my trials don't count at all! :D
They take place after the deadline for assessment marks to be submitted to the BOS, so there really isn't much motivation to try at all.
