Right from the beginning imo. Just get the syllabus dot points and make notes from that. Do past exam papers, have conversation with an intelligent group of friends about topics, ask your teacher for revision.

Most of the states students will be doing it that way. The other small percentage will either be chuffing on weed and watching TV as they don't give a fuck or have their own methods.

Make your self a Holiday Study timetable, i never stick to study timetables but this time i hope i will follow it. Just revise stuff from the beginning and then start on past trial papers. :)

i am starting from the beginning, and summarising the subject yr 11 through to as much of yr 12 as i have, and using the syllabus dot points to follow, and make sure i have covered it all.
then smmarising it down further to make it as easy to remember as possible.

there lucky to be like 1 mark, from year11 content in your subjects ( expect for maths), its not worth it

concentrate fully on yr12

Past papers first, dont worry too much about the syllabus as the school sets the exam.. save the syllabus for the HSC itself

start by writing study notes
memorise, and then do past papers
that is how I would do it

for study notes, do them for the easiest subjects first
when actually studying, do hardest subjects first

i.e. don't study for studies of religion until something like a week before the trial (coz it's so easy)
but for something hard like maths, you must continually study for it

watch BOS syllabus porn
devour your notes
fantasise on keywords ... evaluate .... dicuss ... slurr
reach a climax in your intense study midnight orgies
think about the girl in front of you when sitting in the exams - the less clothes the better

good luck! XD

Eh, I'm a massive procrastinator so for the next three weeks I'm hoping to get started early to get into the habit or whatever.

For me, gonna quickly go through my subjects and see my weaknesses, work on those and afterwards just trying to keep everything up to scratch. Go through revision books, summarize and do some past HSC papers. 8 hours per day hopefully, except Fridays which is 5 and Saturday where I just sleep and screw off.

Not sticking to a schedule. They don't work for me particularly well. What do you guys think? :/

ideally you should be looking at past papers, but most people havent even begun making notes so dont panic. Trials sneak up on everybody and no one does very well. They are designed to induce panic and get you working hard for the actuall hsc. If you kick arse on trials you wills see your rank sky rocket! Go through the syllabus and make sure you can tick each point off. use the syllabus to make headings for your notes that way its all covered. Come up with examples for bio and chem. And focus on quotes for english and history subjects. Maths get a success one book and do as many past paper questions as you can get your hands on. Dont stress trials are just a taste of hsc so you can practice and work out what you need to work on for the real thing just do what you can in the little time you have and remember no one is truly prepared.

its nice to know the trail exams are doing as intended, to scare the shit out of me.

I feel pretty screwed for ancient and modern history, all my teacher has done this year is told us to highlight and summarize, and no source work what so ever, ive tried to do some on my own but im not exactly the buckle down and study type.

thanks emily..
yeh i'm truly freaking out just a bit as i have 2 assessments which are due next term which i think is absolute rubbish, especially as trials start wk 3 and our assessments are due wk 1....................

so do you think shoving all topics covered in each course so far in 3 weeks would work/doing past papers in between?

Sources in modern history are vital!!! you need to use the PEEL method when writing essays Point Elaborate Evidence (Quote here) Link to thesis. So histiography is really important and you should have a historian for every point you make. However you should rarely quote the historian rather you should explain ther historians point of view. Best remember a key quote for each dot point and know the main historians of that topic and what there point of views were. Also try to find quotes that work for a variety of topics to cut down on the work.

Bli - No one can cover everything just do the best you can. Try to study smart by avoiding wasting time on information you already know. Never skim over a subject you barely understand. Its better to take the time to completely understand a topic than to just skim over 4 in that same time. Look at some past paper questions though they so useful especially multiple choice. Try to attempt as many multiple choice questions for the sciences especially on line as you can. And make sure you pay extra attention to what you learned in term one - with that christmas break in between its easy to forget what you did. Dont panic just use your time wisely and start now, you will definatly have the edge.
