Justin says that it will soon be a good time for him to make lunch, which could be called lunch. :)

Lynn wonders who came up with the word "lunch" anyway. She imagines Marcus sould tell her. :uhhuh:

Justin thinks the word lunch was invented by Sir Ernest Luncheon, the first man to ever eat a mid-day meal. He was an English philosipher in the 17th Century. :p

Lynn is impressed.

However Lynn is still sort of hungry, and still cannot be bothered to get up and cook something.

Marcus greets everyone, his brow sweaty, and hands sooty from moving an incredibly heavy and obstinate filing cabinet.

Lynn greets Marcus and shudders at thought of moving heavy filing cabinets, a) because she is weak-as with no arm muscle whatsoever, and b) because she might break a beautiful blood-red nail :p

Marcus finds it hard to believe that Lynn is weak. He also sends out a greeting on all frequencies to those of Important: Please Read who may be online.

Lynn is not weak per se but is a little on the lean side where muscle mass is concerned. She would prefer to have slightly more buff biceps, but alas, push-ups are not quite as appealling as chocolate.

Lynn thinks that a greeting on all frequencies is a wonderful idea, including those who are not familiar with Important - Please read. Lynn would like to make it very clear that this thread has been used for some very valid discussions, such as history, mythology, literary genre, dogs, and nail polish :uhhuh:

If anyone wishes to ask posters on Important - Please Read a question , they are welcome to do so, however it must be said that we require a specific question in order to provide specific answers :) Generalised questions such as "Give me some helpful stuff for EE2" are difficult to answer. All posters on Important - Please Read are actually quite intelligent - some more than others *cough* Marcus *cough* - and as well as being familiar with more than a few genres, are all willing to help others.

EDIT: Lynn wishes to apologies to friends if she is a little absent for hours on end as she has just discovered a rather fat historical novel that has rather interesting characters. :) Lynn likes big fat books, as they tend to provide entertainment for a bit longer. Lynn will also have to pop out soon to collect brother from train station, as *sigh* he "cannot walk home", even though Lynn used to have to, all the time before she got her P's.

It is Pauline Bentley's "Fallen Angels", and takes place in the King Charles Vs Parliament era, which is where another of Lynn's favourite historical dramas is set. Lynn is always intrigued by the drama but it serves as a constant reminder of mankind's folly. Lynn does not feel the violence is the answer to everything, however time and time again, others choose to ignore past experiences. Grr.

Lynn just finished chapter where Royalist wife is beat up by Parlimentary husband. Lynn is feeling very thankful that she lives in the modern day, because if she had been born during that turbulent time, Lynn imagines that she would be dealt with much more harshly. Happily, the other female protagonist is masquerading as a man and fighting in the army. Lynn much prefers her role at the moment.

Katie greets everyone briefly as she has to go to work soon. She just wanted to tell everyone that her formal partner crisis was solved thanks to a friend selling Katies spare ticket to a nice guy she met that day who proceeded to be incredibly nice and spunky. She will tell more when she is not so completely tired from getting about half an hours sleep at the afterparty but would like to affirm Lynns belief that high heels do indeed suck, especially ones without a back strap which tend to come flying off when one is doing the nutbush. :uhhuh:

Lynn's book was a historical novel set in the Puritan Commenwealth/Restoration era and was interesting both in plot and structure (Lynn has not seen such backstabbing bitchiness in writing for a long time). The book could have ended quite nicely at the 2/3 mark of the story, but for some reason the author chose to extend it even further. Lynn is unsure as to why, as whilst it did much to clarify historical accuracy it did nothing for the story. Lynn felt it was overly drawn-out, even if it was reasonably well written.

EDIT: Lynn has just tried to read an internet article about Henrietta Anne, Duchess of Orleans and has discovered that it is not only copied and pasted from various sites, but has been done so extremely sloppily with starts and stops appearing everywhere. Lynn is appaulled.

Hmmmm Alan doesnt really understand the whole "this is where it should end" kinda thought. In all honesty, Alan has only come across one book where he felt it 'ended' for really, he thinks there is always more to tell.

Often Alan spends a few days (which can spread out into weeks) thinking about what happened after...

Lynn has also done that, and has almost always gladly welcomed the epilogues that usually follow. However, in this case, the "epilogue" was at least 100 pages and had been fed into the storyline. Lynn felt that the author missed the "good" ending and could have simply summarised the rest of it, but nevertheless there was a particularly important bit of plot that happened in the "epilogue" and perhaps the author wanted to keep that in at the risk of loosing her audience.

oooh! Lynn does indeed wish Alan all the best.

On a random note, Lynn thought of Alan when she painted her nails red today. Lynn's nails are finally long enough to look good in red :p

Lynn remembers that red is the chinese colour for good luck. :)
