the fact that this relationship thread briefly converted into a mx2 thread is an indicator of the type of people in this thread.

It's just irony... come on, it's funny! Like haha funny because us MX2 people will probably never have those hot chicks and whatnot...

Well, High school isn't nearly as stressful or demanding of your time and energy as a full time job in any worthwhile profession.

So if you can't manage your time well enough to have a partner in year 12, it only gets harder later. Plus it's good practice.
just don't tell them they're for practice, amirite ;]

I think the difference between high school and full time work is that with the latter there are clear boundaries as to what constitutes the work and social paradigm..

With high school, there's the school component and the time away from school which is meant to be composed mostly of studying for the hsc really. The balance is a little different.

My bro's in uni atm, and with his gf, is failing 3 subjects.. although he's hardly the brightest student. If he had a gf during work i doubt he'd be screwing up his work.

That's not to say don't get a gf during uni (lol), but studying and dating don't go exactly well together
Actually now that you mention it I reckon undergrad uni was easier than high school. Less contact hours anyway so it's easier to balance... although you get heaps of time to see your bf/gf at school, assuming you date someone from the same school.

He's doing Civil Engineering which is something like 25+ hours a week and so it's more contact hours really; and they dont go same uni

in the end everything depends on your capability. If you're a dope with shit for brains then well yea...

In all seriousness, no, you don't need a boyfriend. The people you associate with sound pretty stupid though. Most guys in high school fit a few categories:
1) Pretty and typically male but incredibly stupid (so basically, the type you're after)
2) Not as pretty, smarter than your average bear and generally a better personailty (the friendzone kind)
3) Socially awkward asian/ethnic minority (lol)
There should be a 1.5 coz I know hot, smart, nice guys that aren't gay... too bad for me lol.

Having a boyfriend is necessary.
You should suck his dick to see if he's the right guy first though.

Apparently if it's salty, he's not the one, and you have to look for another.
