No worse than using white phosphorous, and no-one important seems to care much about that.

They should also use burning pages of the Q'uran to power their tanks.

And because many of them believe that they are waging a holy war against the Israelis and have God on their side and the promise of an eternity in Paradise if they die for their cause. Crazy Islams.

Military Rabbi Urged Troops to Show No Mercy towards Gaza civilians
Rights Group Complains After Troops Told That Gaza's Civilian Population Was Not Innocent
Posted January 26, 2009

Israeli human rights group Yesh Din is calling for the ouster of the military’s top rabbi, Brigadier General Avichai Rontzki over his messages to soldiers during the 22-day military offensive in the Gaza Strip. The primary concern was a booklet which, among other things, contained a rabbinical edict against showing mercy.

The booklet contains quotes from a nationalist rabbi which declares that showing mercy during the battle would be “terribly immoral” and quotes a sage who cautioned Jews not to “be enticed by the folly of the Gentiles who have mercy for the cruel.”

Yesh Din says the booklet could have been seen by soldiers as official encouragement to act in violation of international law… an important issue as the Israeli government scrambles to defend itself against accusations of massive war crimes during the war.

Another pamphlet told troops that the civilian population of the Gaza Strip was not innocent, and urges them to “spare your lives and the lives of your friends and not to show concern for a population that surrounds us and harms us.” Over 1,400 Palestinians were killing during the war, a large number of them civilians.

They're both the same.
This is what happens when you have two absolutist religions that believe they are the one and only way to salvation in conflict with each other. Even so-called "moderates" believe that they are doing the other side a favour by killing them.
Fucking religion. Ruins everything.

Some of the islams on BOS make me laugh. They are either stupid or just fucking restarted in the head. You can't just "hope" that Obama (or any other US president) may just happen to be sympathetic towards a particular group of stakeholders (e.g. Muslims, blacks, Protestants, Latinos, etc). Nations by nature look out for their self interests, and those self interests are not always the particular group of stakeholders' interests. US is not out to get Islams. OK? get that through your fucking head. however, it is in Americas best interest to have control over oil deposits across the middle east. It just happens to be that the middle east has Muslims. Why are Islams beating around the bush and playing the "they hate us coz we are Muslims" we all know its not the truth. This card may be used to push a political idea, but its not the truth.

In addition to hoping that Obama will be different ROFLMAO, one should also hope that Muslim leaders represent their national interests, so that you are not beholden/relying on anyone to push your interests forward. Like it or not, that's what the Jews do. They're not sitting back hoping Obama is on their side - they are being proactive, whether its via the Jewish lobby in the US or the Israeli government or whatever.

All i ever here from the Muslims is a fucking whinge whinge whinge. im fucking sick of it. and its fucking embarrassing. I turn on Arab tv they are whinging, i turn to paki tv they are whinging, i tun on the TV Muslims are whinging. Its become a fucking joke.

No, it's not. But it is necessary to gain the support of much of the populace. Many have lost faith in the peaceful, diplomatic process of recognition conducted by Fatah. They look for other options, top of which is insurgency and violence.
a diplomatic process towards what exactly? where did Fatah lead Gaza that was so fantastic?

Why the Gaza disaster is not 3 weeks old and has not stopped along with the bombs
Palestine Monitor - Why the Gaza disaster is(...)

Excerpts:

“Why rocket are still fired on Israel?” was a recurring question we received at Palestine Monitor.

Although nothing can ever justify aggression, the use of violence and the loss of civilian life, there are facts that have to be emphasized on why combatants were still targeting Israel after the so-called Israeli disengagement from the Strip in 2005.

Yesterday, in a conference on media bias by IPCRI, we heard a journalist from the Jerusalem Post assuming that the main cause that lead to bias in the Israeli public opinion, and in the newspapers that were feeding that same opinion, was that Israelis strongly believe in the ‘disengagement’ of 2005 and assume that Israel has not exerted any control on the Strip since then. For the majority of them, he said, “and I myself was among those, this was a unilateral war, resulting from 8 years of unilateral aggression by Hamas on Israel.”

But Gaza’s misery did not start 3 weeks ago; and it has certainly not ended following the ceasefire.

The context which is often neglected in the Israeli press is that of the deadly and worsening siege policy on the Gaza Strip started 18 months ago.

...

Since the June 2007 take over of Gaza by Hamas, Gazans have been living in a constant state of siege and blockade, resulting in severe restrictions and shortages of the most basic supplies such as food, flour, fuel, cooking gas, electricity, water supply, medicines and medical equipment. This siege has been declared as a form of collective punishment and condemned by a vast array of governments and Human Rights organizations alike.

On the 17th of December 2008 - the eve of the ‘Cast lead’ operation’- UNRWA, the United Nation Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees - 70% of the Gaza residents are registered refugees dependent on for food supplies - suspended its food aid to Gaza and 750,000 Palestinians due to border closure. UNRWA storage warehouses in Gaza were completely empty and no trucks have been allowed to cross into Gaza to fill them up.

Prior to the Israeli ‘Cast Lead’ operation, the situation in Gaza was already classified by the main legitimate international humanitarian organisations as a “humanitarian crisis”.

Towards recognition and independence. I mentioned the former in my post. And the fact that Fatah has got them nowhere thus far is the point to my post. They've lost faith and have looked elsewhere.

Neither of this has been established for the West Bank which is under the administration of Fatah.

Norway's pro-Israel opposition leader under 24-hour guard

On Israel, he said, "An unwillingness to see that there are two sides to the story has emerged. The far left has invited radical Islam into bed with them. It is the new thing to be apologist about."

In defying that trend, Toje praised Jensen as "a very bold politician. She stood up and made her voice heard at a time when it was not the popular thing to do - which is usually when it really matters."

Meanwhile

DAVOS, Switzerland – Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stalked off the stage at the World Economic Forum, red-faced after verbally sparring with Israeli President Shimon Peres over the fighting in Gaza.

Erdogan was angry after being cut off by a panel moderator after listening to an impassioned monologue by Peres defending Israel's recent offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Erdogan declared to Peres: "You are killing people."

A finger-pointing Peres told Erdogan at Thursday's panel that he would have done the same if rockets had been falling on Istanbul

Yes it's quite funny that Israel is losing some of its staunch regional allies over this Gaza business.

And no, no-one would have launched a full scale invasion on Gaza for a few rockets landing in their country's desert. What bullshit.

Funny how the Trukish Pm throws tantrum ala Paris Hilton, he needs to grow up and act like a leader not a celebrity. He was mad because world leaders appluded Israeli Prime Minister but not him.

BBC NEWS | Middle East | Israel 'hides settlements data'

The Israeli defence ministry has concealed information about the extent of illegal settlement-building in the West Bank, a leading newspaper reports.

...

It suggests most construction took place without the right permits, and more than 30 settlements were built in part on land owned by Palestinians.

...

The defence ministry has not commented on the report, which appears to contradict Israel's official position that it does not requisition private land for settlements.

...

An analysis of the data shows a big majority - about 75% - of construction in settlements was carried out without the right permit or in contravention of permits issued, Haaretz reported.

In more than 30 settlements, buildings including schools, synagogues and police stations, had been built on private Palestinian land.

anyway, bad "news", in that it's not really news. good to have an official document to refer to when squabbling with jaredr and the bos jewkrew now though.
