The combined name thing sucks. Hardly anyone does it and it makes your child stick out for having a wierded name. I knew this chick that had the hypened last name, and I always thought "What a freak".

Yeah, cause if u think down the line those families who always hyphenate their names would end up taking an entire page

It didnt actually see a problem with men taking the womens name, but i just didnt think of it, as i guess u could say this thread is about Traditionalist views of marriage Vs Contemporary views

I like my name just fine, but if my husband has one I like better- I'll change it. If I hate his name I'll keep mine.

The kids can have his name, I'm not into hyphenating. I always liked the bargain my parents had about names-- my mother said to my father "Okay the kid can have ur last name, but that means the first name is up to me to decide"

It would be kind of weird if you're white, or even worse, a black woman marrying like an asian dude and your last name would be asian.

What if you wanted to hyphenate the kids names, but one or both of your names were hyphenated? Actually... that's just a dumb idea, why did I even think of it?!?!?!

Anyways, I'm traditional, I'll take the hubby's name... :)
