See sig.

Bachelor of Science, Advanced majoring in Advanced Mathematics (Pure)... or some equally posh representation of the name of my course.

I love applied and pure maths. Especially pure. Either USYD or UNSW.

2004 yr 11 is now in year 12, but yes, I sit the HSC in 2005.

I'll probably end up in the UNSW course Justin is going for (minus Aero). I like UNSW better. I'm just aiming for 98.50 because 1) it looks good and b) I think I can get it if I try hard enough.

Note my usage of 1, then b? So, so need to stop doing maths for tonight.

The 4u classes were handed out fold-up cubes sent by the UNSW faculty, complete with a 2004 and 2005 calendar, a spiral of occupations to which maths can offer, and propaganda replete with figures such as "14th faculty in the world, 1st in Australia, etc..." and other appropriate hyperbolae (pardon the pun).

and we get NOTHING from USYD...
pfft!

townie: where there's a will, there's a way.
I would like to do some maths, but I don't imagine myself sacrificing too many electives into the 2nd-3rd years for it...

Townie: I figure that you should as well try it.

Don't want regret afterall. Easy to change to something else if you don't like it.

Research (academia), teaching, finance, analysis, intelligence, other science fields, programming.

Fluffy talk: maths develops conceptual skills which are applicable to a wide range of fields.

My cousin got a scholarship to go to Cambridge University and learn Pure maths. I don't know what he's actually going to do when he's done.

If I don't get the marks for BArts/BLaws at USyd, I'm considering BArts/BScience(Advanced Maths)... but then I wouldn't pursue a career in Maths, I'd get to do my Classics and Classical Studies, then do Graduate Law... just out of interests sake
