Thoughts? I personally think Muse JUST outshine radiohead lyrically, vocally and instrumentally. My friend thinks the opposite.

I wanted to see what you guys think.

Really? REALLY?

You're comparing Muse to RADIOHEAD... REALLY?

That's like asking 'What's better? Playing with a rock or playing robot unicorn attack on acid?'

Radiohead is jesus.

like i said before:

radiohead forged a new sound, muse is yet another fish in the tank

all i need to say is Kid A and any argument you provide is instantaneously redundant (not to mention The Bends, OK Computer etc)

listen to origin of symmetry

for me personally, i like the sound of muse much more than radiohead. radiohead can get really dull at times where muse's sound is always energetic and such. > see uprising

Radiohead by far.

For further information, please read my collection of essays "Comparing shit to watermelons: a dissection of modern music" available in all good book stores.

Shocked though I am, I completely agree with you.

It's not my sort of music but I can appreciate the talent, the innovation, the legacy etc of radiohead, Muse are just a nuisance.

I prefer Muse more consistently, but Radiohead is far better when it's good.

that's true with radiohead, but it's still evident in muse

esp the innovation part

Further breakdown:

Muse are rather uninspired. They've taken the generic alternative sound, added an anthem feel, and sold it to cater for a mass audience. While I'll give them credit for their second and third album, the rest just seems to be rather bland. It's catchy at times, and it's easy to see why they've done well, but it just doesn't sit right.

Radiohead have taken the grunge sensibility from the early 90's and have consistently played with it, added rock and pop influences, and as of recent, electronic as well. Thom Yorke is heralded as one of the great songwriters of the last few years, and with the depth evoked it's easier to see why.
