I've actually been told by people at school that there are some decent laptops in stock at various stores around town, so I'm going to go and have a look tomorrow. Free exam days ftw.

heya folks,

looking into a travel laptop notebook myself, sizing up the ASUS W5f, found one for $1799, and im having a hell of a time finding another one in Adelaide so i can atleast know if thats a good price or not, the guys in the store said it should be $2,400 or so, and in the last couple of days its gone down another $200, to the 1799 it is now...

any idea if thats a good price?

white, 80gb HD, 512RAM, right size 4 me, light, 2 year warranty...only battery life is short, about 3 hours i think but i do get two of them...

would appreciate a word on its price,
thanks, Urse

yeah ive got an asus w5f...exceptional notebook :D
thats pretty good for that price...i bought mine in HK for $1500 AU, but thats HK for you
on other sites ive seen them for $2499, so to find one under $2000 is a pretty good deal imo

for my one though, its a core duo t2400, 100gb hdd, 1gb ram 2 year warrenty and 3 and a half hr battery life

my advice: get it asap

I finally decided to buy this computer Dell XPS M1210. Powerful, Light and small at cheap price. just what i've been looking for ages. I think its a good choice for people who want a notebook as powerful as a desktop but light enough to lug around with one hand . This is the perfect choice. Plus its backed by 2 yrs dell premium service(unheard of in notebook) and of course Dell is an american company that you can trust with peace of mind. :D

pff, our ticket price is 1780 at JB Hifi, and bargaining off $100 wouldnt be hard.. i could easily have beaten that.

and it comes with a free tv tuner anyway, asus give it to us, we prettymuch ahev to give it to you. but of course, he was doing a "special deal"

Meh, thats what you get when you shop at a place with 6 elevators in it and staff all wearing suits.

the thing about asus is they say they have "widescreen xga" screens, rather than WXGA screens,

still dont know what the W means.. ?
