Do you have much throughout the week and why?
I'm not talking about breaks, I'm talking about in general

Back when I was at uni, I worked and studied full time, so no. But I still managed to find time to get involved in a few societies I cared about.

Just learn to time manage. And you'll be fine.

I wish I could time manage :(

Depending on your course I'd recommend to people to try and use their non-contact time productively. e.g. working, or getting involved at uni.

Agreed it's difficult but when you graduate, everyone will have the same degree so how will you differentiate yourself?

I had work experience and selective but worthwhile involvement in a couple of societies (Comsoc, UNIT and AIESEC). That being said I already had a grad job lines up from 2nd year but it doesn't hurt to have backup options.

Industry related work experience?
and how did you go about receiving your grad jobs (internships,co-op,cadetships,vocation)?

Cadetship- and I negotiated a special arrangement to maintain my employment so yes it was related. That being said there are plenty of other avenues to gain experience or anything which could help differentiate yourself. Yes even Maccas.

I live 2.5 hours away, so it feels like I don't have any free time when I come home at all. At uni 4 days a week, and am usually out the door between 6am-8am and back home between 5pm-8pm. So on my day off during the week I use it for just whatever, but weekends are more for course work. If I could find any work, I'd grab it. However, who's going to hire a 24 year old who's only available one weekday and the weekend. I keep trying regardless *shrugs*

I don't even have much time to go join in with the societies I've joined, but still try to keep contact via facebook with them and such. Wish I lived closer -_-
