I WISH I could play the piano. I just love listening to people playing the piano. Listening to the music provides stress relief and makes me wish I could play.

forced at a young age
quit after year 7
only coz i didnt enjoy what i was being taught

got upto grade 4 - and stuff.. eh

i'm into contemporary stuff - not the classical aspects of it

self learner now - when i have the time
im currently learning how to play disney songs [from one of my matez's books] so that's pretty cool
kinda forgot how to read music, but a few hour sessions jogged the brain - it's awesome stress relief tho.. that's foshorrr
but can be a major cause of stress when something doesnt sound right

speaking of which, anyone got some sites with free contemporary music [here's to hoping] - just music books are soo expensive these days... *tear*

i love playing piano! i always play my piano or when im over at a friends i usually jump on the piano for a bit ... seems a bit weird. im thinking that if i move interstate for uni, i wont get to play my piano properly for a good 5 or 6 years. then i'll just get rusty. *sighs*... (cuz i want to do lmus in uni)

yeah i play da piano, have been for about... 7 years actually, i never had formal lessons though, my grandma taught me for like, three years, then my neibour (she rocks) helped me along for about two years and ever since i've been teaching myself. it was great though coz i never had to do stuff i didn't want to, i didn't even do that much with scales!
i play modern stuff like 100 years and clocks but i also love stuff like fur elise (your right, i hate it when the newbys stuff it up!) fantasie impromtu, the blue danube, moonlight sonata and ronda alla turca. (my faves)
anyone ever tried writing their own stuff btw? do you write the music first and the lyrics after or the other way around? i've written a few pieces but this is where i get stuck lol.

Yep, played for about 14 years now. I've learnt the instrument voluntarily for most of that time. I'm currently learning:
-Sonata - Schubert
-Elegie - Rachmaninov
-Sinfonia - Bach
-El Puerto - Albeniz
