Cambridge 3U is not really good.... There is nothing on t formula, auxilary method and general solutions. I like Coachman and Fitzpatrick. Understanding Year 11 Maths is good too.
For Chemistry, get Jacaranda and Dot point. Conquering Chem is so overrated.
For Economics, stay away from Tim Riley.

one dotpoint = one paragraph of info. There is nothing in Conquering Chem on Metals, Section 2. i.e. justify the increasing recycling of metals, how to recycle aluminium, etc. Jacaranda and Chemistry Contexts have 4 pages of info on Section 2.

I found conquering chem has a decent amount of info on recylcing (enough to 'cover the dot point' at least)

but yeah fair enough, conquering chem does have really dodgy amounts of information for different dot points, jacaranda I agree covers them quite well. However I still find conquering chem gets to the point and explains it really well without unneccessary info.

Our school uses it and I find it quite good. I know from friends that some teachers from other schools photocopy info from it.

I understand Dymocks sells a text called 'HSC Study Cards Physics' by Andriessen. link: Welcome to Dymocks Online. More for Booklovers.

Has anybody used this or would recommend it? Or can I better spend $20?

Also, what's the deal with Dotpoint for Chemistry? I've heard it has questions direct from the syllabus or some mojo like that. Does it have answers to every Dotpoint as well? I have Conquering Chem but barely touch it.

2 adv. eng (probably no book?)
legal studies
business studies
chemistry

could any older people recommend some books for these subs please?

Can't go wrong with Fitzpatrick/Cambridge for Maths.

And I like Conquering Chemistry, some don't, but it's still a quality book that you should look into.

leading edge is an excellent textbook for business studies but i wouldnt recommend buying it as you might end up using it next year - if ur rlly interested try hiring some books from the library and see if u like any of them

yes, another one of these threads.

modern history (russia, trotsky, cold war is what we're studying if it helps at all), ancient history (sparta, hatshepsut and new kingdom egypt), society & culture, legal studies and extension history (if a textbook even exists).

my history teacher likes Antiquity for Ancient History. I don't know about the rest. I hear macmillan is good for legal studies (dunno if such a textbook actually exists)
