Agreed. That really sticks in my craw.

Oh, religious institutions are exempt from the "do not call" list.

Why make the distinction? What about churches make them appropriate for tax-exempt status?

All churches are for profit. It doesn't make sense, even for a Church to operate at cost, or at a loss.

Even charities operate for profit, although they keep their NFP status by spending "profits" on extra advertising etc.

Religion is a fraudulent franchise.

All other franchises are taxed, religious organisations should be no exception to the rule.

churches do make a profit but their money goes back into the community through charities making it impossible to tax a church as they havn't spent their income on material goods but on charity. obvious exceptions to this rule are obviously scientology and hillsong
