Acct 1B - 80

&*^&^%^%$@#@$#@*!

I am annoyed. I was just above an average of 84 going into the exam, studied like HELL for the exam, thought I killed the exam and somehow, I still end up with a mark stubbornly at 80. I'm annoyed
Acct 1A was like that too. I slaved in that subject as well and only ended up with 81 or something. I did practically nothing except show up for lectures/tutes and do my essay for Psyc1001 and got 81. Hmph.

Beside that, 3 D's and a C this sem. Overall, my best semester yet.

80 isn't a bad mark considering the high fail rate....
maybe the exam was much harder compared to mid-terms and quizzes

No, I realise 80 is not that bad and half of me is actually pleased that it's a pretty nice D after all.

It's just that I might have unrealistic expectation considering how much I slaved for that subject (my most hated subject btw) and how much effort I put into revising, studying, doing hw, doing groupwork properly etc etc etc and it's just totally NOT satisfying to walk out with a mark lower than my Acct 1A mk.

Meh. I'll get over it. It's just a mark but I'm just really frustrated right now.

well, it's good that you compare your marks with your own expectations not with other people's.

I wouldn't say that, but yes failure rates can be up around 1/3 or more.
3rd year Civil - 3 subjects (in first semester) with a 40% failure rate. Ouch, and yes it's true.

If you need it for accounting or a business law major then do it again, but if not, forget about it. It would be so boring to do it again, since it wasnt that exciting the first time around..
Yeah I'd think so too. So... anyone want to buy my books? :)

ELEC1601 - 70 C
ENGG1804 - 72 C
MATH1001 - 59 P
MATH1002 - 62 P
PHYS1001 - 65 C

Average: 65.6 C (is that how it works or is it some kinda weighted average? :/)

I'm pretty happy with these results though. I was worried because i did 2 unit maths and didn't know if i would be able to handle the maths this semester, and it turns out i did okay in those subjects. I was actually expecting lower marks in physics and elec because i really didn't study as much as i could for those subjects.

bring on semester 2

It depends on how many credit points each subject is worth. Last semester i got mostly p's and c's but i got a high range distinction in a subject that was worth more credit points so it brings your average up

yeah. doing an 8cp subject was the best decision ever. i ended up with 90 in it, and it brought up my average heaps. now ill have 2 extra cp for my degree, but don't really mind. it was worth it.

oh cool so if my maths subjects were worth 3 credit points each (my other subjects were worth 6 credit points each), and they were my 2 lowest results, they'll count for less right?

Code:
Alpha	Digit	Unit of Study Name	Mark	Grade
ENGG	1801	Engineering Computing	81.0	Distinction
ENGG	1803	Professional Engineering 1	62.0	Pass
MATH	1001	Differential Calculus	66.0	Credit
MATH	1002	Linear Algebra	69.0	Credit
MTRX	1701	Mechatronics Engineering Introductory	75.0	Distinction
Last result in, a D in engg1801, and a good D. I was hoping for a 85, but I musta really fooked up the last quiz.

WAM = 71.35 if my ubber calculations are correct.
