What happened at the Chemistry building at 11ish today? Saw a shitload of lecturers/students crowded outside, with security blocking off entrance to the building.

Chem building gets evacuated about once a week because of the fire alarms being set off. Its normal.

why coudn't you have just gone to timetable changes place and done it that way

Well we just printed it from the student centre printstations that come directly off timetable database - and ours hand't changed so we though it's all good. I still reckon it will be fine, I think they are just making everyone reallocate so numbers even out, and overflowed numbers in some classes get transferred to the unfilled classes.

chem tables are more comfortable because the distance from chair to table is optimal

I think you can still change via MyUni until Sunday night, before classes are locked on Monday. But you can actually log in and view your timetable until April I think.
