i probably would've walked out halfway through if it weren't for Scarlett Johansson

Even then it was a tough decision

It was a good movie, but undeserving of its 8.8/10 rating on IMBD.

Nope, thought it was pretty fucking bad
a movie like the avengers isn't intended to be cinematically spectacular, it's a profit churner

that said, the reaction *is* justified because for what it is, it was great

also mark ruffalo was heaps good

you are confusing The Avengers with Thor
which was basically a shit movie that was only released so that the character could be in The Avengers which was designed to be a great movie - which it was.

I'm not saying "OMG THAT WAS THE BEST MOVIE EVER BLACK WIDOW HAVE MY BABIES YOU SEXY BITCH"
but it was a great action packed nerdy film

I hardly go to the movies any more because after the hype behind some of them they are quite usually a let down and I would much rather download it/rent it later on
but I was very pleased with The Avengers (lol $9.90 tickets)

Thor was fine.

Wasn't a super spectacular blow away movie but to be fair only 1 in like 30+ are.

I didn't expect it to be any more than an "action blockbuster" when I went in

I just thought it was bad even for what it was

Seriously, the villain (Loki) is one of the least threatening antagonists I've ever seen in a movie, and you thought they would've upped the ante seeing as there were 6 heros this time around

They attempted to make all the characters do "Iron man" style quips every time they were on screen, when Robert Downey Jr is the only one who can pull them off and has the only character suited to them

Many other gripes which I won't say for the sake of spoilers

But Mark Ruffalo was one of the few redeeming qualities of the movie, shame he didn't get more lines

Edit: Robert Downey Jr was good was well

lucky you. i paid 23.50 to see it. but it was 3d so that could probably be why it was so expensive.

Avengers was pretty entertaining imo. Rdj and ruffalo were top notch and thor was not too bad either. In fact I thought everyone played their part well. Loki was a bit of a weak villain, but he had pretty well developed personality

I watched it on the first night at events cinema for $25. Spent another $13.50 for the Avengers cup and popcorn.
