I've started re-reading the books from the beginning. That's like my holiday time-waster plan.

I'm almost through the first one, which I haven't read for like 3 years. Compared with the last few books, it's like so, young, or something. It seems much more aimed at children than the later ones. If HP hadn't had been so hyped up, I probably wouldn't have read past the first book.

Wow, that makes me sound like such a bandwagon-jumper-on-erer

Yah, like many others, I've been planning to reread the whole series again. I don't it'll take that long, though, since I don't do homework or assignments or study...

By the way, I recommend NOT reading OotP 3 times in 2-3 weeks, or even in the same term. It just gets more and more painful. I really didn't find OotP all that fantastic. I can't judge the last two books until J. K. actually writes and releases them, but books 4 and 5 were a bit of a let-down for me. I hope that doesn't indicate a decrease in quality as the series ties up...

And (I've heard the argument before) don't say it's because I'm some weakling who can't read long books: my pet book is Magician by Raymond E. Feist (approx. 850pgs), and the average length of books I read is generally around 500-600 pages, I suppose.

Besides, short books are cool. :)

hahah i was reading PoA up til the minute the ads came on before the movie! :p

all the other books... last year, i had all of them scattered next to my bed, and whenever i got bored i'd pick a random one up and start reading from a random page.

i was (am) obsessed. o__O

I still think book three is the best. Book 5 felt a bit... fake to me. Rowling seemed to be trying to hard to grind the story out, and the characters gain new depths of annoying-ness.

If you enjoyed it, that's fine. :) Read it a couple more times and tell me what you think.

I know now why I love Book 5 more than Book 4!!!

Book 4 didnt really let out secrets, if you know what I mean. Yeah, there was the Triwizard Cup but nothing new was really revealed about Harry's world. Book 5 was just so exciting, with all these secrets being unveiled all over the place. Mrs Figg, Harry's fate, the Ministry of Magic, Thestrals, Department of Mysteries!!

All the HP books are on my huge list of things to read (or re-read) after the HSC... along with most of the rest of my bookshelf. ;)
