The americans should have recognised that the Arabs are a backward and barbaric people that need to be ruled with an iron fist.

The Americans should have realised that, just like Americans, Arabs get pissed when a foreign power occupies their nation.

That's true. But you can always count on the arabs to shoot themselves in the foot and do the irrationial thing it's why they've progressed so well over the last 200 years and being responsible for producing some of the worlds leading scientists, artists, philosophers and technology.

Who gives a rat about the Sunni/Shite skirmishs, breaches of geneva by the allied forces, a puppet government and show trials? Thousands of innocent people dying was all worth it because they get to vote!!! JOY JOY!!!

So what do you think we should do? Withdrawing the troops too early isn't going to fix the problem. The new Iraqi government aren't American puppets. Are the terrorists and bombers obeying geneva? At least the allies attempt to.

Actually, there was an interview with an Arab dude on Al-Jazeera (that bastion of fairness in reporting) where the interviewer and the guy discussed at length how the Nobel Prize is actually racist and anti-arab, which is the only reason that so many Jews and no Arabs have contributed to the things you mention.

Actually, there was an interview with an Arab dude on Al-Jazeera (that bastion of fairness in reporting) where the interviewer and the guy discussed at length how the Nobel Prize is actually racist and anti-arab, which is the only reason that so many Jews and no Arabs have contributed to the things you mention.

I've heard them say similar things as to why no Arab university is in the top 500 universities in the world.

Iraq invasion a disaster, concedes British PM

BRITISH Prime Minister Tony Blair has conceded that the invasion of Iraq by the US and Britain has been a "disaster".

His frankest assessment yet of the prospect that the country could descend into civil war came during an interview with Sir David Frost on the Al-Jazeera television network's new English-language channel.

Sir David said the West's military intervention in Iraq had "so far been pretty much of a disaster".

Mr Blair responded: "It has [but] why is it difficult in Iraq? It is not difficult because of some accident in planning. It is difficult because there is a deliberate strategy - al-Qaeda with Sunni insurgents on one hand, Iranian-backed elements with Shia militias on the other - to create a situation in which the will of the majority for peace is displaced by the will of the minority for war."

Mr Blair admitted the insurgents, who killed four British troops near Basra last Sunday, were testing Britain's will but insisted that forces would stay for as long as the Iraqi Government needed them.

Al-Jazeera's Arabic channel has angered London and Washington by broadcasting tapes from al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and showing the bodies of soldiers.

Mr Blair used the interview to renew his appeal to Iran and Syria to co-operate in ending the violence and to secure a settlement in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

He rejected as "completely absurd" any suggestion that his readiness to work with two countries described by US President George Bush as part of the "axis of evil" amounted to appeasement.

Mr Blair said the door was open for both countries to play a role in resolving the problems of the region if they were ready to give up support for terrorism and abide by their international obligations on issues such as Iran's nuclear ambitions.

The acknowledgement that the situation in Iraq was disastrous will fuel demands in Britain for a full-scale inquiry into the conflict.

It represents a significant concession by Mr Blair to the growing band of critics who want troops to be withdrawn next year.

No I am not angry that US, UK or Australia went to war because of faulty intelligence report. Actually I am happy that Saddam is deposed and I believe 15 million Iraqis, Kurds, Kuwaiti, Saudis, iranian and all other countries which have suffered at the hands of Saddam Hussein are happy too

Fuck off you care about the Kurdish nation. The Kurdish people have been fighting for independence for many years now in Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Iran. Yet Turkey is an ally of the USA. Do you support the Kurdish fight in Turkey?

He never for once regretted the invasion, he expressed his furstrations at people who are trying to fail the new Iraqi government, US, UK and other allies.

No I do not care even if kurds are divided between over 190 UN member countries. However I am pretty sure that they are overjoyed that US dethroned Saddam and now have their own homeland inside Iraq in a quasi-independent status which they longed for centuries. All thanks to America as always.

Australian forces should start pulling out of Iraq immediately, but not entirely, a former Australian Army chief of staff says.

Major-General Alan Stretton, who was chief of staff during the Vietnam war, says the situation in Iraq is a debacle.

Australian troops should have been withdrawn earlier this year when the Japanese forces left, he said.

"Those forces should have been brought home and there was no reason why they should be sent up and risk their lives at Baghdad," General Stretton told ABC radio.

There was no point in Australian troops staying in Iraq any longer, he said, apart from a few needed to guard Australian officials.

"I think we should start withdrawing now."

"We should never have been there. We're in a great quagmire, it's been a great catastrophe and the quicker we get out the better," he said.

But it would not be wise to immediately withdraw every Australian soldier.

"We can't withdraw all our Australian forces - there's only a small number there anyway - we've got to leave some there to guard the embassy and other Australian officials."

Faulty? Try fabricated. Word from the top was that Iraq had to be invaded. Ergo, intelligence goons 'found' evidence which supported this. Classic fault in any hierarchical structure...the blind people at the top determine what those who are meant to be informing them see.

And tell me, was deposing Saddam the original stated reason for war?

Yes Iraq had to be invaded because of Saddam Hussein, WMD was a more convincing reason why they should go and depose Saddam. Whether WMD report by CIA is a complete lie, fabricated, deceptive, delusive, delusory, false, misleading or wrong 15 million Iraqis, Kurds, Kuwaiti, Saudis, iranian and all other countries which have suffered at the hands of Saddam Hussein are still happy that he has gone.
