so has anyone noticed that the curse of the nike: write hte future ad is spreading to other sports?

hint hint, federer losing in wimbledon.

i suspect the queen is next.

Let's see what the death toll is now.

Ronaldinho - Didn't even make the plane trip.
Didier Drogba - Broke his arm, played two games, went home.
Wayne Rooney - Anonymous for most of his games, scored 0 goals.
Theo Walcott - Didn't even make the plane trip.
Franck Ribery - France revolted, France bombed out of world cup. Finished last in their Group stages.
Cristiano Ronaldo - Had a lot of focus in the ad by Nike, he has scored once, but aside from that and 10000000000 ridiculous attempts on goal, failed to live up to occasion.
Fabio Cannavaro - Italy finished last in their group stages, pretty embarrassing for the World Champs of 06'.
Landon Donovan - Not as bad as the others, but his free kick that caused a goal was denied.
Tim Howard - Probably the luckiest of all the casualties, kept well enough.
Roger Federer - Eliminated from Wimbledon, for the first time in what, 8 years?
should've used holman

Christiano Ronaldo is so overrated.

The only good player (in terms of skill IMO) is Ronaldinho (but suffering some problems)...

Was expecting Holland to pull the win off and Sneijder to be the star. Robben/Sneijder combo = winning combination. Holland will win it all now, expect Argentina, Spain and Germany to crash at the last hurdle (Although only one will make it through). And Ghana will beat Uruguay in extra time. Spain will knock over Paraguay and Argentina to beat Germany on penalties (first time in world cup history). Final Holland V Argentina /Spain. 3rd place Ghana V Spain/Argentina.

1st Holland
2nd Argentina
3rd Spain
4th Ghana

What a shocker, well in that case, the final will be between Argentina-Netherlands.

I'm not surprised Brazil lost - there is no Dinho. Who is going to be the magical play-maker without him. That is why Dunga is fail. He had Robinho and Kaka but lacked the person that would of aided the two tremendously (if not scoring himself) in scoring.

The finalists will either be, Argentina and Uruguay IMO.

Now that many teams have released their provisional squads for the WC, there have been some surprise exclusions...eg.
argentina: cambiasso, zanetti, lisandro, lucho, g. milito, gago (to an extent)
brazil: pato, ronaldinho, adriano, diego
france: nasri, benzema, vieira (to an extent)
italy: totti, del piero, toni, grosso
holland: van nistelrooy (to an extent)
australia: spiranovic (..cos i'm a big fan of him)
portugal: deco?
If only we had Viduka...

how france left out nasri and benzema is beyond me. Though france were only a team of egomaniacs.

England leaving out Walcott. Wtf.

FUCK

I betted on Argentina beating Germany.

FUCK that, wtf is no.7 doing on the Argentinian team - he should PASS the ball or LEARN to shoot. Fucking ruined Maradonna's dream - Argentina had like a semi-dream team.

Well at least, Australia can claim it didn't lose too badly to Germany compared to the others; and Serbia can have bragging rights. I hope Germany loses though, I don't want them to win damnit they've cost me money :(

I honestly believed Argentina were gonna be the champions this time.
Well after that match, I certainly hope Germany take the trophy.

I thought Argentina would of been the champions too, and Maradonna was going to run around naked :)

Spain is still dangerous though, Xavi (is constantly underrated) but he is quite good and Spain may be able to (learning from England and Argentina's mistake) beat Germany, if they do confront.
