the AUS team just keep bringing in the new faces into the team at a rate no other international team does, lol.

looking forward to an interesting game tomorrow, i think if sri lanka wins the toss and decide to bat on a good pitch, and jayasuria makes a decent score they'll have a good chance to defend it against the aussies. if murali is at the top of his game he'll be sure to strike as well.

but IMO the aussies will have no problems in winning the series. just compare batting and bowling lineups as well as the quality of their fielding, it'll take the full strength of sri lanka to beat the aussies and have any chance to win the VB series.

On the Alan Border Medal Hussey was never a big big chance, and im suprised at how well he did to get so close. Remebmering a year ago he was just cracking into the one day side and wasnt even really considered for the tests. He also just broke into the tests in october. If Hussey....or warne for that matter player tests and one dayers at the rate ponting did there probably would of been a new alan border medallist. Nothing away from Ponting, he had a good year.

On South Africa, I look forward to playing them in South Africa. That will be a great series for anyone who actually bothers to watch it. South Africa will be a very hard place to win and Im sure there will be a different result (well closer anyway). Lets not kid ourselves the test series wasnt as one sided as it may sounds and the one dayers South Africa were on a hiding to nothing without Nel,Ntini and Kallis .....add to that Pollock for numerous games. Even though I would say they really need to get their batting right and get some more aggression at the top. They are still a good side though and im far from relaxed about being in there group in the Caribeean 2007.

Australia were always going to struggle once Sri Lanka got 274 because they are hopeless and chasing but they obviously threw that one... 5 run outs is just ridiculous. Equals the record for an ODI.

They are hopeless at chasing. They can get 300+ batting first almost every time but when they chase more than 250 they try too hard and get out. I knew as soon as Sri Lanka got 274 that Australia would be at least 6 for 200.

I might accept that they got outplayed if they didn't have 5 run outs. That isn't outplayed that is just stupidity.

LMAO @ our innings. what a poor effort. as said before, sri lanka won the toss and elected to bat and put a decent total on, prehaps a glimpse on how we would fare bowling first with an Australian side without McGrath in the future?


but sri lanka did a good job in keeping Australia tied down, the run-outs were stupid and couldve been avoided ==> i couldn't believe ponting's diamond duck.

look forward to seeing Australia perform better chasing and winning the next game regardless of the toss outcome.

The Australians hit it to him on purpose so they could get run out and throw the game. There are big $ in a third final.

haha i remember at the last SL vs Aus game at the SCG, all the Aussies around us were booing Clarke off when he got out, even though he made the highest score. that was funny...poor Clarke

Maybe it had to do with the fact that I was in a Sri Lankan crowd, so there weren't that many Aussies around....and the ones that were around were getting real bitter and drunk.... but I heard them shouting things like "thats pathetic!", "thats just great!", "real smart".... haha... it was so funny... yeh I can't believe they made 368! I fell asleep shortly after the third wicket fell, and woke up at 6pm, went on to cricinfo to find out...couldn't believe it. I felt as soon as Atapattu lost the toss today, things wouldn't go to well

I am happy they'll play a third game...more cricket is better than no cricket

Fuckityfuckfuckfuck, stupid povo friends and stupid working friends, didn't get to go to it yesterday.

At 3/10 I was glad I didn't spend the money, but then Clowboy and Punter fired up and it was shut the gate, gameover. Oh and I maintain that Hussey can have my babies anytime he wants.
